need a quick refresher
i use to know my car stereo shit back in the day, now I cant remember 1/2 of what i knew, plus I havent installed a stereo since my WRX in 03.
Anyway..... Im putting in my stereo Wed (probably) into my Z after work, I have AVIC-D3 4 ga amp wiring kit fosgate 550.2 amp 10" kicker VX 600RMS 1200 peak sub Zencloser custom 350z stealth box Wiring everything is not the issue except for when it comes to the amp and sub. the sub is a DVC 2 ohm and the amp is 4 ohm. 1) Now if I wire the sub to a 4 ohm load (series), will it be as loud as wiring it to a 1ohm (parallel)? 2) Can I correctly wire this amp to accept a 1 ohm load? guessing no 3)either way, do i still bridge it at the amp? Just wire it in series on the back of the woofer (coil 1 terminals have the white dot and coil 2 terminals don't have a dot. Run one wire from the black terminal w/ white dot to the red terminal with no dot. Run the amp - wire to the speaker black terminal with no dot. Run the amp + wire to the speaker red terminal with a dot). Run one set of wires out to the amp (one pos, one neg). Hook it to the amp (whatever terminals pos and neg show to be in bridged mode), and switch the amp over to "bridged". This will achieve a 4 ohm load at the amp and you can safely push it. If you are confused, just look at your manual, if you don't have it, hit the link below to get it:

the 550 will only run at a 4ohms bridged so you will have to run the coils in series and hope you have a 2ohm sub. Although I used to run my diamond d3 in 8ohm and the dampening was much better(cleaner sound) than my current 2ohm setup.

Agree w/ NoTLaDStyle- "technically" you will 550 at the sub. A few rated watts below here and there will hardly be noticeable in this setup. And even if you bridge this setup any other way, most people will never be able to physically pickup any real difference. Unless you are real familiar with a current setup sound, and you suddenly change it--maybe...
