Ok guys, for some reason, when i turn the volume up on my head unit, (kenwood), when a song with a decent amount of bass comes on, the head unit dims, or shuts off completely, it has to be something with the rear 6x9s, because if i fade it to the two front speakers, its fine no problem, are the rear speakers pulling too much power from the headunit, or is the head unit not pushing enough amps to the rear speakers? if there is a decent local shop in my area, pinellas park, id like to bring it in and have some new speakers, and a flip out head unit installed. Any help is appreciated.

No. no amp just a head unit, i think it might saw 4x20 mosfet, i remember on my pioneer headunit in my last car, its said 4x40 or 4x50 mosfet, not sure if thast has anything to do with it.

i would say that the deck cant handle the amount of power needed.

the speakers are clipping and putting the bult in amp in protection, try turning the bass on the deck down turning it up. you also could have a power issue - how good is your ground!,
