Sonoma GT - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonoma_GT) there was 180 red and grays available, altho the color doesnt match the Wiki picture altho the interior does so it may have been repainted sometime. its actually a entry level version of the Syclone. pretty neat for 1500 aint bad

GM Vortec engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Vortec_engine#4300)
Vortec is a trademarked name for a line of piston engines (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piston_engine) for General Motors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Motors_Corporation) trucks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truck). The name first appeared in 1986 on a 4.3 L V6 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V6) but is now used on a wide range of different engines. Modern Vortec engines are named for their approximate displacement (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_displacement) in cubic centimeters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cubic_centimeters).
Another CPI engine, the LF6, joined in 1996 with the introduction of Vortec cylinder heads, while the LB4 was retired after 1998
Now i dont kno if your refering to the HO 4.3 which is the 96+ or just meant the Vortec V6 that was a plain jane 4.3. But yes it was called a vortec as it is stated earlier but not the high flowing heads and Higher Output

no, actually that is a real production truck and a very rare one at that. those trucks came after the Syclones an Typhoons and were supposed to replace them, but it never caught on quite the same. the vortec 4.3 was available in 93+, just in the early models like that one the main difference was the MPFI fuel injection setup as opposed to the TBI. the later vortecs had different head designs
