I have a LS1 complete front brake setup that I want to install on a LT1. Does anyone know what brake lines I need for the swap or if I need any special parts to make this work?

as far as i've read you need everything from the ls1 car. from hubs to brake lines.

Actually you need the entire steering knuckle.

Yes original 98+ brake lines are needed.

Cool, I have the whole cradle. I just didn't want to start taking shit off and not have all the stuff to put it all back together.

hmmm

after your done taking parts off from the cradle, do you have any plains for it?

i've always wondered how much work it would be to swap one into a car i have. if your looking to get rid of it for cheap somewhere down the road, i may pick it up from you.

I am in the process of doing a similar swap right now. I am using my stock spindle, but going with C5 rotors and calipers. I have to fab up a caliper mounting bracket, but I think I can handle that. I wanted to go from the crappy 11" front rotors to more suitable 13".

I'd put new ls1 or steel braided ss lines on the new brake set up. But you can get away with LT1 lines if you bend the brackets that hold the lines.

LT1 knuckles can work but you have to cut the ears off... easier to go with the LS1's.

Even though the LS1 brakes stop noticeably better than the LT1's the rotors are subject to warping. The Dual pistons provide more friction/heat then the rotors can handle and the heat soak warps them. Cross drilled rotors will begin cracking quickly also.

C5 bracket adapters are available on Ebay for a decent price if you have a hard time fabbing a set. I would buy only the 1/2 inch thick steel bracket types.

im pretty sure I can pull it off......I did see the ebay ones though, not a bad idea. I just rather build my own, kinda my thing.
