5spd.. I could probably get a LITTLE better but probably not more than 1-2 at most. I call BS on the people who say that they get mid 30's in the tegs.

i got mid 30's in an ls eg hatch...which i know is a lil lighter but less aerodynamic. so it might be possible....but who would wanna drive that slow?

well when your driving a stock ls teg, you dont really have the option to drive fast, so why not just try to save some fuel and be good at something? lol

lol, i never really pay attention to how many mpg i'm getting.. but if i had to guess.. probably up around 30 mpg on the high way and then like 25 or so in the city..
just depends on how you drive the car really.

yea i prolly get around 25-30 depends on how im driving and if the ac is on or off, and i got 91 rs which is the lightest. if i rebuild my motor with higher compresion pistons would that make me burn more gas?

I think a higher compression/higher performance engine will make more efficient use of the fuel, extracting the most power from it. This gives you the POTENTIAL to get better fuel mileage IF the car is tuned properly (not running pig rich) and IF you can keep your foot out of it.
The other big exception would be high-overlap cams, which allow more air in to make more power, but spew a lot of raw fuel in the process.
Look in the MPG log thread... there are a couple people there running high compression or turbo engines and returning incredible gas mileage.
It's really all about just keeping your foot out of it, though. And the more power you have available, the harder it is to not use and abuse it.

I'll be checking in once i'm tuned on my high compression motor. 13:1 compression.

When I had my '94 Civic EX coupe (bone stock), back in the day, I would get around 27 city and up to 33mpg on the highway. I didn't use A/C though.
The Nissan gets around 22 city and 26 highway. That's no A/C with an untuned SR swap.

i get 31 in a gsr teg in the city, with easy driving, 28 if I redline it once a day
