Ok So i live in NC obviously i'm not going to Tampa to get a Paint job. Anyway my motor is out of the engine bay and im am wanting to paint the entire car with the new bumpers. I got the paint i want which is Cobalt blue Metallic if this helps for my question. I am wanting to do this myself, But i like all the tools but got a location to do it at. What kind of tools do i need and good Brands? (as far as an paint gun). i got the compressor too.

Good paint gun= $400-$600. Maybe you should find someone to do it unless you plan on using tools again. A lot of money for a one time deal. Are you base/clearing or single stage? Cheap gun may work but could mottle and stipe base. How much air do you have?

thanks guys im actually borrowing a friends sata. and some other equip but does anyone no the paint code for cobalt blue metallic?you would want to try 2 paint something before you tackle your car so you can get the feel of ol girl.those gun's are a little tricky if you never used one before. if it's an older gun like a jet90 then you my want to have your buddy there with you.if it's a newer gun like sata rp or the new 3000 then it's not that bad.i use a 1.3 for all my job's that's base coat/clear,some guy's like the 1.4,not me.good luck with your new paint job.you'll be just fine.:P

How do you get thru an overall with a 1.3?? A 1.4 Iwata for clear leaves my arm dragging. Wish I could use a 1.6 again like back in the day before High Solids.
