Hey guys I have a 1993 Ford Escort LX Station Wagon, and i believe the front door speakers are 6 & 3/4s and the rears are 5x7s. I was wondering if i could go with RE 6.5fr's all around?

According to my computer which is correct 95% of the time the 1993 Ford Escort Station Wagon has 5.25" front speakers and 6.5" rear speakers.

if you like the RE audio speakers you can go with the re5fr's in the front and re6.5fr in the rear.

We are an Authorized RE Audio dealer and I personally like them a lot, they are nice sound quality and great lastability. We actually carry a Lifetime Warranty on them when installed by us.

yeah you could go RE all the way around. You may have to create a slim MDF baffle for the rears, I'd have to see the car to tell for sure.

The new RE components are pretty hot, but mighty pricey. For that price I'd rather for with Rainbow or Focal. OZ Audio matrix elite series components are damn good for the price (~$300)

"lastability"...?

try longevity.

Dude, you can put those speakers in if you really wanted to, but you'd need to do a little bit of fabrication and raping your car. Something I loved doing to my old car.

Forget putting speakers in the rear. With that saved money, get a better component set up front, and def get 6.5s, make baffles to make them fit.

Rear fill is pointless, having a bigger speaker in the rear than the front is just absurd.

People still say this to me, but i really enjoy rear speakers a lot. In every car I drive, I have to put the fade like +3 to the rears. It just sounds better to me.

To each their own.... you made my point though. Almost all cars you can't even hear the rear fill, u sually if you fade all the way to front you don't notice a difference.

if you fade it to the front you will notice there's nothing in the rear =/

rear fill in a car isn't rear fill, its stereo sound from another location. Better for cleaner reproduction if you have problems with certain frequency response from the fronts, the rears can catch the same frequencies and vice versa.

I like rear fill because you get a fuller more submersive sound even if its only a stereo configuration.

most people dont know what good front stage sounds like, and tring to explain or sell it to someone in a daily driver is a waste of time. the speakers also only make up 50% of the sound quality - head unit and amps, being properly powered and correct frequency crossover points can make or break a expensive/cheap system. A good installer can make a cheap system sound good and all the top quality parts installed wrong could sound like crap. just my little .10
