this is taking a while because the landlords lawyer has been on vaccation pretty much the whole time the shop has been locked up.

he is schedualed to be back to work monday. my hopes are that the two parties and their lawyers can come to an agreement by monday or tuesday.

after talking with the landloard he would like us back in the building as soon as possible.

we have been trying to deal with the landlord the whole time. regardless of his lawyer situation. landlord has met with us a couple times. we even came up with what he wants, yet he's still dragging his feet.

pretty sure hes trying to make sure he doesn't make a mistake. he keeps stringing us along, however what it comes down to is that he probably doesn't know his rights, our rights or a good way to deal with this situation.

so, hopefully we'll have a straight answer with the landlord gets back,which is on monday the 18th. that date has been told to us since the begining.

He has one post under his belt.. and we all see where he went for.. coincidence? I personally have been ripped off 3 times buying parts that were supposed to be in perfect condition but used. I sent a family member to go get them since i had to work and came home to find out the parts were broken. I called for two weeks straight to either just get a credit for the $50 or a different one. In the end i finally just decided to eat the purchase since i got nowhere even after going over there, because the staff only gave me the run around with different stories as to where the responsible party was. Go figure :dunno:

On another note, I did have an IAT sensor welded into my upper Intercooler piping. That came out perfect and the quality was amazing. Mike put effort into something that was the smallest job and he is a great worker...

um....i've spoken to a lawyer about DC/Hannigan plenty. i got screwed by them when i moved here and was dumb enough to be their drift program.

upon being informed that dc was setup in a fashion where they'd never have to pay anything till they went out of business and then it be completely SOL due to something about they way they had it LLC'd no people could be drug into any lawsuits i gave up and moved on. there are a million ways to setup a llc, many of which defeat the whole purpose of a limited liability corporation (which is somethign that in theory allows someone to start up a small business without fear of losing their personal property if the business flops, of course this was also designed pretty much blind to the fact that people have no morals or ethics nowadays, and has also created many no strings attatched fly by night businesses, or businesses where the owners just cut bait because they can, like in this scenario.)

first of all, hello to everyone who remembers who i am.... and to those who dont know me, i was the previous slave to DC. yup there from b4 DC was dc and just a hole in some mexican's salvage yard..

i cant believe this day has finally come. when i left DC i finally realized how shady Ian was. I post a thread on here and if Kirk would as to so kindly post it on here to remind us all what exactly i said i would appreciate it. everytime i read it, i think about how ridiculously young i sound but now it all makes sense and the things i said would happen has come to be true.

if anyone can remember back b4 dc when ian had a green kouki s14, we would go to the new tampa target meet? well there was one wednesday when about 5-10 ppl came up to him threatening him because lost projects had stolen their money and their parts.. they had assumed that their parts were on his car because they happen to be the same brand as the ones ordered. seem like a coincidence? maybe not, ian probably has most of the parts from his shop at his house or storage... if i know ian as much as i believe i do then just wait a few monthes to a few years and you will see those parts on ebay.

like most of you already pointed out, now is the best time to get what you can wether it be your car or even a valve stem because you will definately lose everything.. like mikespeed says the shop is an LLC and he is not liable for anything. when lost projects was shut down ian ESCAPED by telling everyone he went bankrupt when in fact he did NOT. in this particular instance because its happening to so much ppl and involving so much money bankruptcy is deffinately a very good choice for him.

like mikespeed and alot of his so called friends we've somehow been screwed over by ian. when you get close enough to live with him for that long and get screwed out of 5 grand you learn.. just like mike said even small claims is not as easy at it sounds.. because he lives in pasco county it costs about 500 of filing fees to take him to small claims for that 5g's. i live by karma's rule and ive decided to eat that loss because he will get his.

and to be fair....

They belong to a car that Ian agreed to store and not touch for a gentleman who got screwed at a shop in Orlando while he is up in New Jersey. i was there that night and had brought up the fact that he had purchased a radiator that was stolen from XAT through jap danny (the one who stole it). The main person that confronted him that night was society mikes brother and it was bc his coilovers were never given to him after months of being paid.


i wasnt going to post in these threads, but at this point in time, i suppose its safe. i wanted to be the benign in between and say something along the lines of "hey.. he'll get his shit straight... dont freak out.. shit happens.. yadda yadda"

all shops, no matter the size have problems here and there. most of the time, the customer is none the wiser. sometimes youre broke, sometimes payroll gets paid by someone else, etc. hell, i know ive fallen behind in the past on rent payments and was in danger of getting booted, but i always came through, got my shit paid, and kept on going. most of these things have nothing to do with the customer, so they dont really need to know. it sucks and VERY stressful, when the customer catches wind of it.. or for that matter, is affected by it.. which this is obviously the case. i was assuming that he would have sorted it out, borrowed whatever it took, to get his shit back together.

we all know ian had a less than favorable past and he knew that we all knew. i would have figured that he wouldve taken the high road in this situation to quell any fears of a scam, but i am now starting to think that not the case.

i am taking no sides in this issue as its really none of my business. but lets just hope that SOMEONE steps up and helps these customers out so that they no longer lose anymore money than they have to.

Great post...I think the best thing to do is for every customer to try to get their cars out of there as soon as possible, especially after what happened to Tito's car...That just sucks terribly. I would love to find out who the thieves were that broke in and stole from Tito and the other cars at DC. Those losers deserve to go "STRAIGHT TO JAIL". They took a bad, bad situation and made it worse.

I have tried to stay unbiased during this fiasco, because I did not know any of those things about Ian's past. In fact, when I first heard about them, I was told that Ian went back to all the Sylvia owners, and the victims of Lost Projects, and made good with each one of them. But, after all the comments here, it appears that all those claims were perhaps true...I do not have any personal experience with those events or do I know any of those people and that is why I still don't accuse Ian fo anything...But it does look bad...

ian did not fire me i left because he thought i would be his work slave forever. 10-12 hour days with minumal pay does not make a happy employee.. on top of that he couldnt make up his mind. one day i was manager (shop foreman) and the next i was listening to a newby tell me how to run "my shop"

I was wrong, back when i was a young idiot on dad's payroll, I bought my b16 hatch to KJ when he was at ZMR. He was an awesome guy, he helped me get used good quality shit at good prices. Not only that, he was willing to let me watch him work on the car. Not because I was a one of those fucks who didn't trust anyone with my car, but because he knew I wanted to learn how to do things the right way.

I just wanted to put that out there, because it's true, a lot of good deeds go unnoticed, and the bad stuff is always put out there instantly. I don't know if he reads these threads or cares what people say, he was a very humble guy, but if he still works on peoples cars, I HIGHLY recomend him

1994 Toyota Supra Turbo 6 speed rolling chassis. I have owned the car since 2000. It has 36,000 miles. has mint condition polished 98 TT wheels in great shape, 98 taillights, has been completely repainted Nissan 350Z Daytona Blue with a molded rear bumper, new carpet,(dirty and could use a cleaning) nice black seats. The whole under carriage of the car has been completely proffesionally undercoated. The entire front and rear suspension has been painted black. The whole interior of the car has been undercoated as well and looks great. The interior pretty much intact. The windows roll up on battery power, The guage cluster, drivers side airbag, a few dash pieces, radio, HVAC controller are not installed and I do not have them. Pretty much the car needs an engine, trans, and rear to run and a few other misc parts. The targa has some slight damage on the front left corner from being blown off during a storm and from not being fastened down by the tech working on the car. The car has a theft recovery title from some time back in the 90's. I found a super low mileage 98 clean title rolling chassis that will be replacing this car. I have not seen the car in 1.5 years and was scammed VERY VERY badly by the shop that was to complete this car for me. I will answer any of your questions as best I can but I will probably refer you to the shop owner where the car is located(not the same shop that scammed me) and he will better be able to assist you with any physical questions about the car. The car is located in Tampa Florida at the shop Driven Concepts. The car is priced to sell and I would like to move it quickly so please feel free to call with any questions. I rarely answer emails. I have tried to stay unbiased during this fiasco, because I did not know any of those things about Ian's past. In fact, when I first heard about them, I was told that Ian went back to all the Sylvia owners, and the victims of Lost Projects, and made good with each one of them. But, after all the comments here, it appears that all those claims were perhaps true...I do not have any personal experience with those events or do I know any of those people and that is why I still don't accuse Ian fo anything...But it does look bad...

I've been watching these posts over the past few days with astonishment. I can't believe what's transpired since I've left Florida. And it's a damn shame, I had alot of good work done here, and the guys that worked at the shop were stellar. I hope that the guys both in the front and the back that kept this place running in spite of the owners irresponsibility do not get their reputations tarnished by this escapade. I can only imagine what it's like to be flamed by those who have been screwed, all while trying to keep the promises you've made to those you still can. Not to mention the fact that you have a family at home to support, and need to be able to find a new job at a new shop after you leave.

I wish I was still in town. You guys have been good to me and I'd reciprocate any way I could.

Call me a nutswinger or whatever, but I know how to separate the individuals from the whole. I'm sincere when I say good luck to all of you!

Having worked for and been partial owner of several small shops I can say that it is truly a tough business to actually make money in without being shady in some way. I always tried to run my shops as straight as I could and as a result I was always broke, which sadly is the price of integrity.

We're all still here. Why do people keep asking that? I know not all of you mean bad but it was obvious that most could care less about us "employees" as long as it meant that you could take your shots at DC. Regardless of how many people tried to explain that the last group of us had nothing to do with what you are all angry about it didn't matter. I've read all the links but like Kirk said, I have no claim or interest in it becaue I wasn't involved. Everything is said and done with blatent disregard to the lives that were affected. I've sold to many shops around the world and the blatant disreguard for the customers and their property lets this one "take the cake" in my book! :evil: There is no way the landlord can hold your property because of something that the previous owner has done. Went to pickup 2 of my cars today, and they werent there. Turns out TPD impounded them because the dash vin # did not match the chassis vin. Thank you to whoever reported DC as a chop shop to TPD, I may lose my cars now.

It's common to swap the dashboards out on the 240's.

I have both titles in my name, the detective even reconized my name when I called (because he obviouslly looked up the registered owner of the vehicles). TPD had my car for 3 days, and didn't notify me. I only found out when i went to pickup my cars and they weren't there. The previous owner of the s13 is a friend of mine, and he said he swapped out the dash because it was cracked. The s14 I bought from an unknown person, however TPD is saying that dash is different too. My titles match the vins in the engine bay and door jambs. TPD won't tell me anything, and they are talking to me like I am a suspect. They told me "We may waive the impound fees if we dont find any illegal activity done by you".
