What do you think or know you get gas milage wise in your LS1 ?

Jw because I'm considering about getting an 1999 Z28 LS1 Camaro here soon.



Even if it's bad milage.....still getting one :lol:

the lt1 i have in muh trans am came out of a 94 z28. it gets 19 on the highway with the t-tops off. in the city though its terrible

I've heard of people getting 26-29 mpg highway on the LS1's.
Unless it's the gearing they have.

Well also depends alot on the tranny, most people change out the 700R4 with a non overdrive tranny to compansite with the power from the moter, if thats the case in that car gas is going to be whoa bad, I have a 305 5.0 with a 350 turbo tranny, it's actually not that bad, but once again thats a 305 moter.

a 700r4 will make your car faster than a 350 turbo killer first gear

almost the same as a 4l60 e

yes a ls1 will get atleast 24 mpg on highway if it is stock

Well I'm thinkin' of the 375HP SLP PowerPac as for future plans and just leave it at that. So gas milage might go down just a tad.

About right. I am getting 15.2 MPG Right now before a street tune. I'm confident to get up to hopefully 17. :crack:

My stock '02 T/A, automatic/2.73 gears gets 20-21 mpg mixed driving. It's rated 18cty/25hwy according to my '02 Firebird brochure. Light mods like a lid and exhaust would probably increase the mileage.

My lightly modded '97 Z28, LT1/6-speed/3.42 gears got around the same in mixed driving. I used to skip shifts around town too to keep the revs low and it got good mileage on the hwy, 27-28mpg steady 70 cruise from Tampa to Miami.

6 speed here, 23+ city..... 35+ @65-70..... 28@85-90 a good tune goes a long way :D

I got over 20mpg highway with my Heads/Cam Formula. 6th gear is great :) My 99 SS gets shit for mileage, but it has bigger injectors and the tune is a little fat for the spray. I plan on retuning it soon to get the mpg a little better.

I'm close to calling BS, even with a good tune I think your a few mpgs off. How many miles on a full tank do you get?

I was under the impression that the 700R4 and 4l60E as basically one in the same. With the exception of the 4l60E being electronically/PCM controlled.

I get about 245 miles on a tank before the low fuel light comes on. This is in the city, flooring it every two seconds in an automatic running on 93 octane. ran it with a octane booster this week and got 15 miles less on the tank. I wouldnt do it but if you run it on lower octane, you might get a few more mpg.
