im thinking about building a 383 stroker, there are just a few things i need to know. first, can they be built to be reliable if using forged parts b/c i have heard that they don't last very long. second, are there some kind of special heads that i would need because the stroke is lengthened, and third is i possible to put a cam in a stroker if timed correctly and not have any issues with valve clearance. any help would be great, thanks.

they can be built very reliably depending they are built appropriately.

you dont need any special heads, you just need to make sure your piston to valve clearance is good given your new piston and cam combo.

you have to be careful of the cam hitting the rods depending on combo of parts sometimes you have to use a small base circle cam with a 6inch rod
