I will be there! Well im registered anyway. I may have to work unfortunately. I was reaaaaaaly looking forward to running for the first time with a properly running, tuned engine. If im there ill gladly give you a ride. Im not an expert but this will be my 6th or 7th event.

Well im on the wire as of now if im gonna make it or not.

The car is at the body shop and ready to go into paint so i should have it back before this weekend but not 100% yet.

Loren you wouldnt happen to be the person my buddy james was talking about ? He said that if i let an instructer with a red yaris drive my car around the track i wouldnt beat his time for 5-7 years... sound like you maybe ?

Yeah, James said he'd talked me up to a rookie. He exaggerates a bit... but if you put me or any of the other "experienced" (the means old) folks behind the wheel of your car, you'll likely be amazed at what it can do.

If i make it out ill be sure to have to beat on my car alittle. Only thing is she likes to get warm after a quick floging.. but should be fine, Need to do the fan mod i think.. then other stuff.

If you want to run they will take walk-ons if people don't register by 9 am, but there will be a list and you'd best be early to get on it.

Preregistration closed with just over 50 people -- our limit was 65, so there should be plenty of room for walk-ons. Still get there early, to give yourself time to set up your car and walk the course.

Sorry I'm going to miss it...will be jet-lagged on the other side of the Atlantic when you guys start.

Man what a horrible day I had...between my car being slick as hell from no camber. to my battery tipping over and welding itself to the engine bay...I dunno what worse I could have done.

umh..umh..um. Roomates GF was teching.. :P

Also in my defense, my stock airbox usually holds the battery in place between my ac line and the box..so it doesnt go anywhere. She didnt know that I had pulled the box out, and gave me a pass because..well, we live together and she knows my car. After the incident (terminal is still firmly implanted in the crater it burned in my fender well) I took a dr pepper box and bunched it up and crammed it in next to the battery and finished the day without incident.

I still have fond memories of welding some craptacular battery tie down out of random scraps of metal at 3 AM the morning before an autocross school. So much fun racing on 2 hours sleep. And then on my new car, the first time I removed the tie down (right before an autocross of course) it turned out that it was rusted into oblivion and I had to come up with something quick for the autocross the next day, and that's why I have a corroded battery strap from an 88 Jeep on my car.
