To calculate your MPG.

When you fill up, reset the trip meter.

Next time you fill up, take the number of miles on the trip, and divide it by the number of gallons you put in to get back to full.

Example.

Drove 392.6 Miles, refuled to full and put in 11.21 Gallons.

MPG = 392.6/11.21 = 35.02 MPG

Maybe you should also include what type of driving, in percent form. IE. 20% city/80% Hwy. Or just 90 miles City/300 miles Hwy.

2005 Grand Prix GTP Comp G. Pulley, Tune, Intercooler, Exhaust (complete), rockers, and colder plugs. Filled up leaving wesley chapel.
13,600 miles.
Trip to ellenton @ 73 to 75 mph, 1 burst to 120 to whoop up on a RSX.
118 miles. 3.85 gal (a hair over 30 mpg). Couldn't believe the computer showing 31.4 mpg so I fueled up when I got back just to see how close the computer was. Over the life my excel spread sheet says I'm getting 26 mpg (keep in mind this car was purchased new by me and is only driven for FUN or highway trips).

BTW this car turns low low low 13s all day and gets 30+ mpg on the highway @ 3500 lbs, honda civic this green people. I wouldn't ever ride in a honda when I can get equal fuel economy or close to it and be in a much safer car.

Another interesting note is my friends C6 M6 Z51 vette. He drove down from Johnson City TN at 70 to 78 mph and average over 27 mpg for the entire trip. I think people just need to learn that every stoplight isn't a race.

I dont remember the exact figures since I haven't filled up in a few weeks, but the last few tanks have been consistent at 28mpg. I get 30 if I'm on the highway 100% of the time (only once when I was driving from Charlotte to Tampa), which surprises me because the Type R transmission is very short. I sit at about 4000rpm at 70mph in 5th. Even with city driving I take it up to 9000rpm probably once a day to keep crap from building up on my 02 sensor.

I'm surprised to see I get better gas mileage than a stock Integra does.

Y'all can thank James (RX-7 guy) for letting me know about this new TR forum. Hehe...

Best full tank mileage so far was:
Car Type: 2007 Toyota Yaris Liftback
Miles on Car: 15k
Gallons: 10.05
Miles: 394 (corrected to 389 due to shorter tires)
MPG: 38.7 mpg (all highway, average speed 65)

Up until recently, that was my record and I've been averaging 34-36 in the city. But, I've switched to 5w20 synthetic oil and refined my technique a bit. (I'm not an "extreme" hypermiler, by any stretch... just getting better at what I do and having fun reaching new goals) My last tank was mostly city and averaged 38.5 mpg. My current tank has been about half highway, and I've been REALLY doing things right. I have a ScanGauge and I monitor my "daily" MPG average... it's been over 40 consistently for this entire tank. Drove to Sarasota Saturday (took the liesurely "beach route" down the coast) and averaged 46.2 from my house to the hotel. On the way home I saw an average of 47.0 from downtown Sarasota to the Skyway tollbooth. The average went down when I hit the highway, but I still had 46.3 for the day by the time I got home! This tank is holding at about 42.5 with about 1/4 tank left. I'll update when I fill up if I don't forget.

Oh, and that mileage is with the AC on full-time and wearing 215/50-15 performance tires! :p

Loren
07-15-2008, 01:51 AM
BTW, FYI, FWIW:

Doing the One Lap of America this year, we logged a total of 6,472 miles and used 192.6 gallons of gas. This wasn't hypermiling at all... we were typically cruising 75-80 on the highway and the mileage includes our track miles on 9 different race tracks. Average 33.6 mpg (corrected to 33.2 for tire diameter).

Couldn't imagine having to do this out of my own pocket...
It's a work truck with a heavy Reading type topper on it with a 50 gallon power sprayer in it, usually try to keep the water tank empty, I run most of NW arkansas's country assed highways mostly steep and twisted, but almost no traffic, or traffic control devices. I drove 90 miles wednsday and had to pass maybe 3 cars.
Car: 04 Dodge 1500 weighing in at an average of 6-6700 lbs
Miles on Truck: 103k
Gallons: 36.02 today
Miles: ???
MPG: 14 if I'm behaving, 12 ish if I'm not, Hey it's not my gas.

I'll update when I fill it up again, usually twice a week.

And the good news just picked up a 05 Jetta TDI and topped off the tank, I'm going to post up the numbers when I refill it as well... in about 2 weeks...suck it OPEC!

Hoping to see at least 14mpg after a full tune-up and running some Seafoam through it.

All things considered I think this is pretty good.

Well after that autocross I ended up getting 23mpg. First gear around the entire course 8 times is apparently quite detrimental to my fuel mileage. I'm curious as to what your mileage was in the yaris loren.

Loren
07-21-2008, 08:41 PM
Average from Safety Harbor to SPC with the AC off = 43.6 mpg. (turning off the AC makes a HUGE difference)

After 8 runs, average was down to 25.7!

Trip home with A/C on and driving a little faster averaged 37.5. Overall average for the day was up over 30, but I forgot to look at it after I got home.

Since I just filled up... I'm going to try to "recover" from the autocross and get up to at least 38 for the tank... driving to SC for the Lemons race on Thursday, so it will be all highway miles, should be doable.

I think the point of this thread is to post GOOD mpg results. People seem to have lost sight of that.

If you want to talk up how poor your fuel mileage is or anything other than just posting your BEST mpg/tank (and I don't think anyone really cares whether you get 12 or 15 mpg in your work truck... if the number is less than about 30, you're wasting our time)... I think you should start a new thread.

Even the mighty Yaris gets crappy fuel mileage at an autocross! That's a topic for another thread.

redinjuns
07-24-2008, 02:28 PM
Well gosh Loren, I wish we could all drive neato econoboxes that are as cool as yours, but that's not the case, and I'm pretty sure nobody bags on the times the mighty yaris throws down on the track, I'm doing what I can with what I have and I probably drive 3 times the miles as most, so saving a few miles to the gallon in the work pig does make a difference...weather you care or not. You do keep those autocross times to yourself right?

omgwtfbbq!
07-24-2008, 02:52 PM
If you're implying that the yaris is slow at the autocross, you are very, very wrong.

Very wrong.

Otherwise I agree with you. This log is for everyone to post their best so they can see how they do against people driving similar vehicles. Econoboxes and big turbo diesels should be welcomed.

Zate
07-24-2008, 03:24 PM
everyone is welcome.. all cars/trucks are welcome however i'll be capping the list at the top 20.

We might start another list that uses the % over the average EPA rating, that way it's a relatively level playing field. if your car gets an average EPA of 15 MPG and your doing 20, awesome .. if its an average of 35 and your doing 30, not so hot.

Anyone want to volunteer to keep the "Hypermiler" log ?

That's driving like a grandma... If I drive it like I normally do (not like a dumbass, just "spirited") I get about 25-26. This is 75% city. On the highway I can pull about 32-34 MPG.

Car Type : 97 Civic EX w/ JDM B18C R-spec
Miles on Car : 113,xxx
Gallons : 7.5
Miles : 225.2
MPG : 30.03

Thats 125% of the EPA fuel economy estimates for a 2000 USDM Integra Type R (24mpg combined).

I finally figured out a hypermiling technique that works. Loren suggested shifting at 2500, well thats not really an option for me with my ultra-short transmission as I only drop 500rpms between each shift, I would literally be in 5th at 30mph. I can, however, safely accelerate with traffic if I shift at 3000, as long as I shift extremely quickly and keep the car under power as much as possible. This last tank was probably 40% hypermiling, 30% me not paying attention and shifting at 4500-5000, and 30% highway cruising at or above 4000 rpms.

And zate, I PMed you about the percentages log thread and you never got back to me.

Okay, okay. My apologies... as anyone who knows me will tell you, I get bitchy sometimes. (everyone nods)

It just bugs me that we've been capable of building cars that get over 30 mpg since the 80's... and yet vehicles that get well below 25 are still the norm! Average fuel mpg in the US is something like 20 mpg... that's nuts! I do appreciate that even those who NEED to drive a gas-sucking work vehicle can make a difference in fuel economy by changing their driving habits and that's a good thing.

However, I still think there are some people who post really pathetic stuff in here just trying to be funny. But, I'll let that go.

Anyway... new on the Yaris front:

1. I've learned how to pretty consistently get up to 47-48 mpg in the city if my trip is long enough. (takes at least 15-20 miles) That's pretty cool. It would take a LOT of work and dedication to turn that into 45 mpg for a complete tank, though. Maybe I'll try.

2. Road trip this weekend... didn't have time to hypermile, but the car gets a solid 36 mpg cruising at 80 mph. About 42 cruising at 70 mph. And (I really hesitate to mention this because I DO NOT want anyone to try it) drafting ~ 1 second behind our race car trailer it was averaging 53+ mpg. (again, don't do it... in our case, the lead vehicle was a friend who knew we were back there and would pre-brake to warn us before slowing... drafting closer than 2 seconds is extremely dangerous and stupid otherwise)

Oh, and all of the above was with the AC on, two 180-lb adults and 100 lbs of crap in the back of the car, and riding on 215/50-15 performane tires. I didn't keep good records on this trip, so no "official" mileage log entry, though I think I had a 42 mpg tank in there somewhere. (and I'm not including the drafting mileage in anything because I think it's a really bad idea and I'm not condoning it)

The diesel pickup towing the car trailer averaged a little under 12 mpg.

BeQuietAndDrive

I need to try and boost the MPG in my Scion xA a bit. Loren, we have the same motor and just about the same everything else , although I believe the xA transmission is geared a little shorter than the Yaris. In 5th gear at 70 mph, the motor sits at 3,500 rpm. How is it in the Yaris?

I usually average 36 or 37 mpg, 70/30 highway/city split. I estimate I use A/C about 50% of the time. Before ethanol in gasoline I could consistently get 40 mpg, but it's been a while since that. I've tried lots of different techniques before but it doesn't seem like my mileage seems to be affected much.

Is there anything that could be wrong with the car that's impeding my gas mileage? The spark plus are only about 20k miles old. Maybe it's my air filter?

One last note: I consistently get the best gas mileage with Race Trac gasoline. I have no idea why, and I swear it's not in my head. I basically refuse to fill up anywhere else. Someone else should try and see what happens!

Our friend would pre-brake and pre-signal as we were on a road trip. Loren was asleep when I was driving and when he saw I was 1 sec behind our tow vehicle he was, well lets just say, frustrated with me for being to close. To reiterate, do not attempt this. It was unsafe on my part for being within 2 seconds from the vehicle in front of me.

The diesel pickup towing the car trailer averaged a little under 12 mpg.

Not just your average truck and average trailer though. Dodge 3500 Dually Diesel, loaded back seat with tools, tool box in the bed fully loaded with tools. The trailer: Double axle, all steel, double car trailer, 5th wheel hitch with 2 1985 BMW 325's both loaded with tools and spare parts and an engine hoist all strapped to it. The truck normally gets 17mpg according to the owner. We joked that if there was a way to have loaded the Yaris on to it, the mileage probably wouldn't have changed.

It is at a solid 4,000 rpm.

Wow, thats the same gearing I have in the Type R.

How is that an economic transmission (unless you have like 2 more gears)? My old SOHC tranny was at like 2500rpm at 70 in 5th.

Wow! It's definitely a 5 speed box in the Yaris. And I thought the xA had short gearing in 5th gear.

Loren

It is at a solid 4,000 rpm.

Negative! The tach in my Yaris lies. I have the switch set to "3 cylinder", thus it reads higher than actual. It makes the rev limit appear to be 8500 on the tach instead of 6500. It's a psychological thing... you feel faster when you're winding your engine out to 8500 on the race track!

Actual RPM at 70 is about 3500. Probably the same transmission in the xA. The xA is likely a heavier car due to more options, probably more sound damping, etc. 36-38 mpg average in mixed driving isn't bad, really. To do better, you'll simply need to accelerate more slowly (try shifting every 10 mph... shift out of first at 10, out of 2nd at 20, etc... of course, if your target speed is 30, you want to drop to 5th there). Then just have a very light foot. Make speed adjustments (acceleration) very gingerly... and look for places to coast... lift completely off the gas and let DFCO work for you. Driving over an overpass? Be light on the gas going up it... give it a little bit more as you crest it to gain a few mph at the top, then LIFT and coast for a few seconds on the other side. Every few seconds that you coast makes a difference. (if you DFCO coast just 1/8 of a mile only 4 times on every 10 mile trip you make, you will have coasted a total of 20 miles on a 400 mile tank... the difference between 380 miles on 10 gallons and 400 miles on 10 gallons is 2 mpg!)

This discussion really belongs in another thread, though... would be best for people to start new threads to ask questions. Just post mileage figures in this thread.

Managed to squeeze 13.7 out of the work pig on the last fill up...Have been driving it the same way this tank and The Light is on already at just over 300 miles and the last tank it stayed off till almost 400, trying to figure out the difference between the 2 tankfulls and all I can come up with is the conoco gas. Just put it on the scale yesterday and w/o me in it I'm under 6k lbs first time I've been able to get it that light. And it did me absolutly no good, that tank came out to 11mpg, and the wierd thing is I already burned through another tank and it's bounced back up to above 13.5 mpg, same driving style only thing I can figure is the gas.

And for the tdi checked up on the millage tonight, kinda disappointed:roll:

if the number is less than about 30, you're wasting our time)...

I'm going to waste more of your time

I usually see around 20-22mpg with the wagon on a 50/50 City and Highway split.

I tried all of the tips and tricks here for one tank just out of curiosity, they definitely work guys......25.9 MPG changing nothing on the car except the way and speed I drove it... this was still a 50/50 mix on a car that is rated at 25 HWY.

Tried reflashing the real-time ECU map with the "economy map" provided by Cobb and gained 0mpg.

I've reflashed back to stage1 like I normally run and will go back to a bit of a leadfoot, 2nd gear pulls are too fun to resist.

It is nice to know I could have almost a 25% increase in MPG if I really HAD to.

Charles, your post has the benefit of at least showing that an improvement can be had... an impressive one, at that. So, not a complete waste of time. :)

As for me... I was robbed! I've been having a really good week, averaging well over 42, and up to as much as 46 on some days... and today on the way home from Tampa I actually saw a REAL (not aided by drafting or any such nonsense) 50.1 average on a 1 hour drive, mostly through Tampa traffic. Wow! Anyway... the Scangauge was telling me that my tank average was 44.6 and I figured I was close enough to 350 miles to call it a "tank" and filled up tonight. (I was going to explode if I didn't see the redline soon!)

The real numbers are still good, but not quite as good as I'd hoped. Here ya go:

Car Type : 2007 Toyota Yaris Liftback
Miles on Car : 15k
Gallons : 7.910
Miles : 339.8 miles (adjusted to 336.4 for tire size)
MPG : 42.96 mpg (adjusted = 42.53)

I know the car can do more. There are guys on the Yaris forum all the time claiming 48-49 mpg. My typical trips don't lend themselves to that, though. And I find hypermiling to be very stressful... so I'm gonna take a break from it for a while.

My sister's car. She drove there, I drove back. She complained that my admittedly aggressive driving hurt her mileage  . She's gotten as high as 28.x MPG on interstate trips and usually 22-24 city, I just happened to be there for this fill-up.

1991 Nissan 240SX 2.4l I4 Manual 138k miles
just short of 300 miles and around 14 gallons.
20.54 MPG mostly city

This is the best mileage I've ever gotten. The tank was mostly city but I did see maybe 30% interstate. The problem is that I rarely drive my car on the interstate, so when I do I tend to hit it hard and fast. When I got over 20 MPG for the first time I was so excited that I researched hypermiling and started trying conservation techniques to improve even further. I started looking way ahead, coasting up to lights, using decel fuel cutoff more often, trying to accelerate with moderate throttle in the 2500-3500 range.

The next two tanks returned 19 mpg and 17 mpg. With the second tank I was so outraged that I peeled out and did a 1-4 pull heading back home from the station because I'd just spent two weeks driving as conservatively as possible and got worse mileage. It also annoys me that my sister's car with the same engine, an auto tranny, and 300lbs heavier car gets much better mileage than I do.

I've compared mileage on several cars I've driven to people online and I consistently get about the worst mileage you can hope for out of any car. My driving is 95% short trips 5 miles or less on a cold engine, either that or hour-long WOT blasts around curvy back roads mostly at 4-6k rpm. I'd like to change that, but every time I've tried to improve my mileage through driving I've seen no consistent improvement and gone back to my typical driving style.

Ever think about converting to OBD1?? All U need is a stock type-r ROM(Chip) eith some fuel trimed out and it wont change your MPG when running a bit leaner. And you would see a gain in power throughout the powerband.

Okay, I did the hypermiling thing (well, not really, mostly I just kept the speed down) on the way to Sebring tonight. The tank started with 60 miles of city driving that was holding an average of about 40 mpg.

Car Type : 2007 Toyota Yaris Liftback
Miles on Car : 18k
Gallons : 4.142
Driving: 30% city, 70% highway
Miles : 182.6 (adjusted for tire size = 180.8 )
MPG : 44.08 mpg (adjusted = 43.64)

I wanted to see 45 mpg, but it was pretty clear that wasn't going to happen, so I set my sights on 44. The Scangauge read 44.2, and dropped to 44.1 just as I pulled into the gas station... pretty accurate this time.

I was stoked that I had 44 mpg... then I remembered to adjust for tire size. Dammit!

I'll be spending the next 3 days here at Sebring, probably running at least two sessions on track each day. I'll report that gas mileage just for kicks... it will probably be in the 20's (including idling around the pits mileage, running out for lunch and back and forth to the hotel, etc), maybe even under 20.

I *will* beat 44 mpg on the way home! My target is 50. I've seen 49 (but didn't fill up to document it, and ended up nose-diving the tank with city driving) before, so I know it's possible.

Loren
09-07-2008, 10:17 PM
I'm pissed. Would you believe... 49.9 mpg?

Filled up after I left Sebring, drove west on 66/64 all the way to US41 (skipped the Interstate altogether). Took 41 north all the way into Tampa. Hung a left on MLK to Dale Mabry to Hillsborough into Oldsmar where I filled up. Average speed for the entire trip (including stop lights and some construction) was 42 mph. Max speed was 63. Max rpm was 3193. The Scangauge said my average mpg was 51.8, and my absolute peak average was 52.1.

FOR THE RECORD...
Car Type : 2007 Toyota Yaris Liftback
Miles on Car : 19k
Gallons : 2.742
Driving: 80% rural higway, 20% casual Sunday evening city
Speed: Mostly 50-55, never more than 5 under the limit if other cars were behind.
Miles : 138.2 (adjusted for tire size = 136.8 )
MPG : 50.40 mpg (adjusted = 49.9)

Oh, btw... this entire trip was done in air-conditioned comfort. So, without AC... 52-54 might have been possible. (don't expect me to try that experiment anytime soon)

What's the EPA on that truck? What kind of driving do you do, mostly highway or more city?

My initial about people posting the mpg of uneconomical vehicles was that most of them are just posting because they're trying to be funny. "My race car gets 9 mpg on the street". They don't care about economy, and we never hear from them again. Pointless.

You're obviously trying to improve your fuel economy (and succeeding), and that's a good thing. It looks like you've taken a new work truck and started at 16 mpg... and gotten up to 20 mpg with it. That's a solid 25% improvement! It's the equivalent of taking a 28 mpg car and getting 35 mpg with it... nothing to sneeze at.

I think it's more the truck breaking in and loosening up a little as opposed to anything I'm doing, I'd call my driving 75% highway miles but not easy ones alot of the runs I make in it are through the country, stop light every 15-20 miles but ALOT of elevation change, I coasted for 1.2 miles in a stretch yesterday before I got back down under 55 again, but then I have to do some climbing again. I tried to keep a count of the sweet ass corners in the first 25 miles for a buddy of mine lost count in the mid 60's. Then drove another 10 miles.

New result from my 91 240SX.

312.2 miles
13.776 gallons

22.66 mpg

But you have to factor in my new tires, since they're 3% shorter than my previous tires. Still comes out to ~22.0 mpg, a nice jump from my previous best. A lot of this last tank was highway driving, but I was turning almost 4000 RPM most of the way so it wasn't my driving that made the difference. I recently replaced my spark plug wires- the old ones were so bad that they would short out after a long drive and almost made me miss two separate autox events, and the engine ran a LOT better with the new ones. I also got an alignment that took me from almost 1/2" toe front and back to zero toe front and 1/8" toe in at the back. I also replaced my old rear diff lube with new semi-synthetic stuff.

Unfortunately I spun a rod bearing, but I'm rebuilding, so hopefully with a fresh rebuild and a few other little tweaks I'll return with much better MPG results.

Kinda ran into a wall at just under 21 mpg
Updated the list.

Encouragement:
If you REALLY want to see an improvement, I believe that it's there. The EPA on that truck is somewhere around 22 highway. And it's my belief that 20% over the new EPA can be achieved without great difficulty in just about any vehicle. So, the Colorado "should" be capable of 26 mpg. You're probably carrying some extra weight around in equipment for work, but I'd still guess that 22-24 would be achievable for you.

If you have a real-time MPG display, it's a great tool to help you improve. Without it, you have to rely more on pure skill and remembering to use what you know works. I realize that you're in a work environment and don't want to kill too much time in the pursuit of better gas mileage, so the obvious "drive slower" might not be an option. But, there are still things you can do that will help. Acceleration is the biggest killer of gas mileage. Try to make a conscious effort to accelerate more slowly, especially when there is no other traffic around for you to impede. It might take you 30 seconds to get up to 60 mph instead of 15 or 20... but that's really not a big deal, is it?

Another good trick is to watch the terrain as you drive. For small hills or overpasses, resist the urge to adjust the throttle to keep a constant speed going up the hill. Allow yourself to decelerate a little bit... maybe 5 or even 10 mph, again... it's that acceleration up the hill that uses excess fuel. Once you crest the hill, THEN ease into the throttle and gently accelerate back up to speed... and beyond. Give yourself an extra 5-10 mph of "easy" downhill acceleration before you lift off the gas completely and let the car coast back down to your cruising speed.

Try those two things... I bet you'll top 22 mpg.

I've learned that IF you can manage your acceleration (following slower vehicles helps a lot), it's possible to actually get BETTER gas mileage in stop and go traffic as long as you don't spend too much time stopped. Gentle acceleration, keeping good space between you and the vehicle ahead, and looking way beyond to notice the stops well in advance so that you can begin your coast as early as possible pays great dividends.

I drove from Safety Harbor to Ybor City and back yesterday, took Hillsborough for the bulk of the trip. You know how Hillsborough is. Lots of lights, lots of traffic, lots of stupid people. Yet, I still managed 44 mpg for that trip. That's 22% more than the EPA *highway* mileage for my car in *city* driving. And I wasn't really slowing anyone down, either. I accelerated just a tick slower than the cars around me (tucked in behind semis when I could, accleration is a non-issue in that case), and cruised about 5 mph over the speed limit if the traffic was moving that fast.

The fun part was watching all of the "sprinters" dodging in and out of traffic, tailgating, launching like they're at the drag strip, and braking like it's turn 7 at Sebring... yet never getting far enough ahead that I wasn't right there with them at the next light.

Only 18mpg with a 4 cylinder... I'm going to try and apply some of the stickied tips on the next tank, also I need to finish my HHO cell and install it.

My dads manual 99' sentra is getting 34 mpg in town. He watches RPM closely.

Got that 22/g tank... just once though. Truck is at 12000 miles and going in for the 2nd oilchange shortly, the shop is going to have to try to put tires on it. They got rotated at 6k, and the back ones are worn to the id10t marks on the inside already. I do keep that momentum up though:lol: we are saving some dough on gas as well:lol:
338.8/17.1=19.5
322.7/17.5=18.4
309.3/15.1=20.5
353.9/16.1=22.0 <--Late night run through the mountians no traffic
283.9/15.5=18.3
367.7/17.7=20.8
319.5/17.0=18.7
Have a couple more wrote down in the truck still nothing impressive 20ish.

I still don't understand how I'm getting better fuel mileage than lighter, less powerful cars. :dunno:

You're driving more economically.

It takes a good understanding of some simple tricks and how to apply them. More importantly, it takes the diligence to stick with it consistently... at least long enough to overcome your bad habits.

man you are not kidding. resisting the urge to bury my foot kills me. and it sucks that my car is so slow that i have to beat on it to get places. i'll tell you one thing, traffic HATES me leaving a light.

None of those miles were Hypermiling, in December we are taking a RT back to Tampa, 1200 lovely highway miles and I can't wait to post how it does running 80+ the whole way.
Tdi ftw.

Results from today's Economy Run:

Me: I was off my groove and didn't even know it because my ScanGauge was lying to me. It was reading 55-56 mpg average... and final calculated mpg was 49.2!!! I was bummed. Previous record of 49.9 still stands.

Jeff (treekiller): Couldn't touch my 49 mpg, but did over 1.5x his EPA highway rating of 27 mpg and put me to shame by doing so.

No. 1 spot im coming for you!

Nooooo! Damned turbodiesels.

(I'd probably be driving one, but the VW TDI's were off the market when I was shopping, and they don't sell the Yaris diesel here!)

PS: The TR Green Motoring top 20 is now all over 30 mpg.
