Rear End for 1992 Camaro RS?

Hey guys,

So I know I do not have a positraction rear end in my car only the passanger side rear tire get power and spins, I'm looking for a positraction rear end for my car anyone know if a Z28 (330 gear ratio) of the same year as my car had positraction? and would that simply drop with in with my car? I found a Z28 rear end for $250 thinking of buying it but I need more info first!!

Yes it *should* be posi, and there is no 3.30 gear in an f body, 3.23 3.27, 3.42, 3.45 would be the close ones.

BTW i've got one you can have for $200 complete with discs.

if you have a book for 82-92 fbodys it has the gear ratios written down, all you have to do is look on drivers side of car. in front part of the axle

If you have a 305 RS I wouldnt waste my time upgrading. I got an auburn posi and 3.73 and the thing was still a 16 second car.

be sure to know what your buying... something that spins both wheels when cold will still spin one when hot if the clutches are ripped up in it. Anything this old and used, chances are may need a rebuild. Just buy from someone you know and can verify.

I'm planning on getting a 350 or LS1 motor to install in the RS they will fit in perfectly but I need to get ready for it and first step is new rear end, lol I'm not going to put all that hp and torque to 1 wheel!

And thanks Turace for the info, I got a guy thats going to hook me up with cleaning/rebuilding if need be, just hope it doesnt come to that.
