View Full Version : Well, the Mercedes thing was kind of a letdown...

There was music and some snacky food and some X-Boxes and massage chairs and stuff inside... They had a big static display of all the Mercedes models including the G-Wagen and SL class... Meh.

The drive/ride was disappionting, too. They had a "ride in a C32 AMG" part where the dude floors it, takes a little jog to the right, makes a u-turn, and goes back. I mean - you haul ass, but it's literally 10 seconds. Good feel for the acceleration and brakes of the AMG.

The "road course" part was okay... You can drive a C230 Coupe and sedan, a C240 sedan, and a C320 coupe and sedan on a 10 second autocross type course. Meh.

The "slippery when wet" drive was meh, too. They have you floor it in a rwd C320 on this slippery mat thing... Then in a 4matic C320. You feel a difference. Weee.

I didn't see the presentation or the drag race against the M3 that others have talked about... Although I did see a license plate-less E46 M3 pull in as I was leaving. Oh, well.

There was NOBODY there... Like...MAYBE 75 people. I ddin't have to wait for any of the drives... I think I got behind Leonard at one point on the road going over there, but he didn't go :-(

I didn't see anyone there I knew...

Oh, yeah. And I got a nice Mercedes baseball cap, and one of those flexible cutting board thingies...

What do flexible cutting boards have to do with Mercedes C-class cars?

I have no fucking clue.

Jeremy's review steered me away. That + at 3PM when I was supposed to be there, I was on a real autocross course. No AMG, that's a sin. No manuals, that should be illegal...

:w/stupid:

The free cutting board was from one of the sponsors of the event.

Glad to hear some negatives. I was starting to feel bad about not going.
