Well since everyone else is...
As of now all I got is an Eclipse CD8443 running a pair of JL VR 6" coaxs.
In my room I've got a JL 500/1, 300/4, VR 5.25" Comp set, and Eclipse 88120 DVC 12" sub waiting to be installed. Along with a bunch of Stinger wiring...
Will be upgrading to Eclipse CD8053 once the amps are in.

The Speakers are VERY efifecient and High Quality. I have them hooked up to my Blaupunkt San Jose MP3/WMA Reciever. The tweeters are very crisp and clear at all levels, without being harsh. The woofer cones provide some decent bass for their size.
I built this subwoofer box for my sister and it has been in my car for about 6 months while she didnt have a headunit. I built the sealed box myself it it performs VERY well for the 2 FREE Kicker Comps and FREE US Acoustics amp. :D It is going in her car soon and I will cover it in grey carpet.

I am undecided on what I wanna do for a subwoofer/amp right now as I dont want something big since I need trunk space. I just want some nice decent loud tight bass in the future...
you need to amp those focals

Those Focals are begging for an amp.
I'm Running Mb Quart "Q" (qm 218.61) 6.5s in the front
1 image Dynamics IDQ 12
a Pioneer deh-9300
all off a five channel Alpine MRD-F572 (RMS birth cert. 119x4 and 362x1)
I still need some rear fills(right now i've got the factories running off the deck) and a 1 farad cap
I Bought that Alpine amp from Tom... Someone ought to buy his diamonds

The Focals are PLENTY loud and still dont get distorted from being slightly under-powered until MAX volume. I am saving up to lower my car first and a H22 in the future.

This is a pic of the custom 3/4"MDF Spacer I had to make to get the front speakers to fit. The magnet cant be too deep because it will hit the window, OR if you make too big of a spacer, you speaker will hit the door panel. :(
Now I shoudl step in and say that more power doesnt nec. mean that its gonna be that much louder, but they will be that much clearer and cleaner, speakers love power, and focals love power like a hooker loves cxhachtbacks cash. I bet if you hooked a nice 50 wrms to each set youd be throughly amazed with them, and never look back

i shouldnt say i need a cap but i want one to make sure that amp runs optimally the whole time. that amp is a beast running at close to 1000 watts RMS. I do however need some Rear fills thinking about MB Quart QSD midbass set but we'll see. I agree about the power on those focals... clearer is definately the issue

838 wrms =/= 1k watts
838 watts is no problem, I ran ps2, 300/4 500/1 screens, and other misc shit with stock alternator. NO caps
CXhatchback did the same thing.
Only issue I had was when I jumped to ~1300 watts
then the alternator didnt enjoy life.
but 800 watts is no problem for a civic alternator, cx has been runign that on his cx alt for what 2 years? if you really want it to never worry go for a new alternator. or new alt, 2nd battery, isolator and caps... somewhat overkill.. but you shoudl never have to worry about power dilivery again.
I think we shoudl chat soon, I am planning on running a simialr setup, as is saggleman, witha nice quality comps up front and midbass in the rear fills, then a nice solid low end. I'm interested in seeing how the midbass compensates fomr behind the listening position, and if you wanna have fun, a good ahq meet could be amp your efreakin focals with the 300/4 I've got lying aorund ;)

thanks for the advice... I'll see about a cap. I can get one used for 45$ so its not too big a deal. I work with saggleman so I helped him set his system up.
could use some mid bass as could mine but I think thats definately the way to go. Good SQ components up front mid bass in the back and then a nice balanced sub or subs

if by helped you mean bitched endlessly about how i got a w3 instead of an idq, you'd be right
Robby

that is what i meant. This might start a whole new argument but an IDQ is a better sub than a JL w3. W3s are nice... just not as nice as IDQs
I regard them as almost equals, not to downplay one or talk up another, but for what the w3 and idq are, they are some of the best on the market, and I wouldnt be upset owning one over another idmax > w7 imho tho

just a personal opinion I like the w3 over the comp vr, and the idq is a line of subs fomr image dynamics

i'd take a w3 or an idq over a comp vr any day. it depends on how much power youre going to be giving them though. if you've got 600+ watts to throw at the subs, i'd go with the idq... if you have less than that, w3 is the way to go.
