What do you think the best component speakers are? I have kicker 69' 6 1/4 and 6x9's and they suck ass. The 6 1/4 speakers have blown twice and I don't eeven play them loud or abuse them at all, luckily they are under warranty so I get them replaced for free. I want to get new ones anywho, which do you think are the best that provide some good bump and are reliable?:?

2QUIK4U what amp are you running, make sure you are running one that is putting out good clean power. Thats the key in having a really good sounding system. Tom just incase he doesnt want those what are you looking to get for them? I might know a few people.........PM me with some info.

I concurr with Diamond and would like to add Boston Acoustics and McIntosh to the list. Like I tell everyone, go with one of the higher series Soundstream amps or a McIntosh amp. Just depends on how practical you are planning on being.

i have mb quarts, they sound great, and you'd have to work REALLY damn hard to blow them (reference series or better, don't bother with discus). best around as far as i'm concerned.

So no one's using JL Audio? Damn, I'm in love with mine.

I've got JL XR components in the front (6.5) and Infinity Kappa coaxials in the back (because they were cheap and I was sick of not having any rear fill.) I'm pleased as piss with the JL's. They REALLY scream since I installed an Eclipse 8051 head unit a few days ago. I've heard all the top of the line MB Quart stuff and wasn't too impressed. I've not heard the Diamond's though.

not necessarily, you just have to know where to look... i've completed my system for about $500 (speakers sub and amp) and it sounds phenomenal. ;)

right now i'm running rkc113's up front on a zx450 with a jl 12w3v2 on the back 2 channels.
in about a week i'll have mb quart qm 215.61's up front with the rkc's minus tweeters in back powered by the phoenix gold zx450, and the jl 12w3v2 on a jl 250/1. i think i'm going to need a cap real soon...
all for a grand total of around $700... i feel good about myself.
EDIT: and an alpine deck... 7892 i believe
did you buy the quarts used? new? @ cost?
and I doubt youre gonna need a cap yet.
Miles

the q's were used off ebay for 150... and the rkc's i traded for a palm pilot... all my stuff is used except the deck and sub... still sounds the same though, as far as i can tell.
cool, I was thinkin.. either youre getting stunning deals onthe stuff... or buying used
yeah I ran the 500 and 300 off my stock alt
it held up, cx hatchback does too
only when I went for ~1300 did the alt die

yeah, and the only reason that i have a new sub and deck is because i got stunning deals on those... the 7892 was at cost, and the sub was like 190, which is the cheapest ive ever seen it (although i haven't been looking very long... it was kind of an impulse buy... i was in the market for a sub, and there it was.)
