Well i picked up my first dodge yesterday. It's a 88 3 speed auto turbo I Lebaron coupe. I got the car for $400. Has new head gasket, new head bolts, new radiator, and a 2.5in exhaust with no cat.

I have already installed a cone filter, and i have a eclipse intercooler and a 1st gen eclipse BOV i plan on installing soon as well as a GValve and some other little stuff like a larger throttle body, injectors, etc.

The car is going to be my daily driver until the M3 engine is finished in my 325i. Once the motor swap is complete i'm thinking about taking the motor out of the lebaron and installing it in a omni or some other lighter platform.

I'll try to post some pics up soon. She doesnt look like much, but thats all part of the fun :D .

very ? No offence to you, its just that it seems a lot of these cars get sold because of that.. the rad or usually the thermo housing leaks, then the car overheats and pops a head gasket.

Hopefully nothing else got warped or cracked

www.thedodgegarage.com

Check out some of the stuff there. There is also a page on there on how to mod the 1st gen talon/eclipse BOV's to hold more boost.

Motor is in perfect condition. My friend Rich who is a Dodge master mechanic did all of the work on the engine and according to him everything was fine. Oh yeah, hes driving a 87 Turbo II Daytona running 24psi with a ton of mods (ported head, intake manifold, larger turbo, modified eclipse BOV, cummings diesel fmic, etc.) The car is extremely fast. I have tried getting him on tamparacing but his computer keeps screwin up so he has no internet access.

The car runs great and has a decent amount of power. Ive been doing some research on cheap upgrades for the motor and it seems as if they are limitless. For now she will have to stay farely stock for now until the M3 engine is in.

Oh yeah, whats the widest tire i can fit on the stock lebaron wheels? The tires are really crappy and not holding any air.

Where;s "Rich" live/work?

Yeah, theres no end to the cheap shit you can do to that car. Dodge people lay awake at night thinking of ways to build things for $.42

People usually put on 205/50-55-60/15 on those. They fit nice. Im sure you could throw on 215 or 225s... but thats pushing it for the wheels. Ballooning the sidewalls make for crappy handeling. Also- when you start raising up the boost... dont go too crazy.. those stock autos cant take TONS of boost.

Set the timing to 15* while the boost is low... you'll be surprised!

Rich and I are from Inverness (right next to Crystal River). We have a few other mopar guys up here too. One owns a twin cam spirit R/T and a couple of other daytona peeps. Maybe we could all meet up one night or something.

Rich Gromer?

Yeah, it would be cool to meet up... except right now I have no turbo car (running) to bring there. Maybe it will inspire me? <sigh>
