cv joint problem
I have a 89 crx HF with a b16a jap motor swap, every time i go around a turn or even straight itclicks very bad i wont drive it. i took the tire off and there is a plastic boot on the cv joint that is broken do i replace the whole cv joint if so i dont know what cv joint to buy because of the swap.
you can replace the boot all you want, it really has no affect, what has happened to it is the boot ripped, and bearings on the inside of the boot have worn down due to not having grease on them. it is better to replace the whole thing in my opinion, but i think they sell bearings, not sure though, i didnt really take time to see if i could just replace them, i just replaced the whole thing, you might want to get both of them replaced, it ran me about $200 and they take the old ones, but thats replacing the axel myself

"two different types of b16a1 intermediate shafts:
s1, same intermediate shaft as 90-93 teg so 90-93 teg axles work great.
y1, this one is a little tricky, a stock 90-93 teg axle will be too long, this might be why you have a cut/shortened on on your car. The easier solution is to get a 88-89 teg axle and put the 90-93 teg inner joint on it. That is basically what an sir axle is. There is also a place called raxles that sells these modified axles already made."
hope it helps
