View Full Version : GST vs turbo 2...goes bad

so i'm going down 41 (91 mr2 turbo "stock") and these guys in a eclipes GST do the ricer flyby and we end up at the light, the guy actually look at the car and give me a thumbs up,
then he's like"what you got under there"
"stock"
light goes green, i but like a semi, a ship, and a plane on hs ass, he catches up and was like damn i thought you had it stock, that BOV sounds like ur runnin like 25psi and you have like flames comig out your exhaust!! (due to my open header), so i'm like aight, peace step on it.....6.5k rpm...BOOM!!!!
i see like flames shooting out my engine bay, so i fly off on the sde of the road and these ladies run out of circle k, and put out the fire with exstiguishers.
i too it home, the block has 3 holes in it th size of my fists, ini cylinder #1 the rod is in the shape of a U. so i got to put my n/a back in for a bit

i got another turbo motor which i'm inthe middle of building up right now, which will be pushing out over 290hp over the stock turbo motor i had. but it'll be a wait. i'll have pis of the motor in the toyota fourm posted in the next couple of days.

Dr. Dirt (previously with an 11.0 sec LX) brings the bad juju when he runs...

bump and ttt (to the top) are the same thing - just bringing a post to the top of the list.

Copmagnet, what is the meaning of Life? What kind of APR am I looking at for a Home Loan, also, how can i learn to play the Bridge rif from Van Halens "Hot for the Teacher"on my guitar?

Sorry about your motor dude I hope you are rebuilding an all forged bottom end on your new block. Its a shame that a fast import car has to implode like that instead of a ricemobile with stickers and altezas. Please excuse HKSCRACKBABY for making an ass of himself in your thread, he can't help it he is a little slow.

it will be an hybrid, 2.5 L turbo motor, yea toyota only made a 2.0l turbo and an 2.2L n/a, so we're boarding out the 2.2 to make it about 2.5 and an all forged bottom end, and run about 30psi of boost. al powers did this to his mr2, and put over 650hp to the grpound, the whole motor project should cost about 3-4k but it'll be pimp. i got to put my n/a motor back in it though for now...

actually al powers is only running the 5s-fe built block and the
3s-gte head, making it a 2.2L stroker. also he put out 515-530whp on the stock block, and unless he works REALLY fast, i'd doubt the motor is in the car yet, tuesday night it was on the ground inside the shop (since i was there), and is still getting prepped and ready. it might be in actually by now, but theres NO way its running, broken in, and tuned for 650 yet, though he's shooting for higher.

i personally have no idea how you get a 2.5L hybrid using any of those motors, the amount of boring would have no wall left between cylinders probably.

sucks to hear about your motor but at least you have another block that you can use. good luck on the buildup and reaching ~450 or so

his motor b 4 had like 525 i think, trust my, his will be hot, and yes i am doing the same thing he is, though i may not get 2.5L but it'll be more then 2.2 fo sho. so i'm doing the same thing he is

Al put out 525RWHP on a stock 3S bottom end nothing done to it except ARP botls and a HG .

Your better off building a 3S . all the stroker kits are is 5SFE cranks that are cxryoed and some cusotm rods .

The 3S will handle ALOT of power . Just go Pistons and Rods and balance the motor . Should be good for like 6-700HP if everything else is up to par and you break it in correctly
