I just finished porting the ports in the head, I also ported out both manifolds.

Its looks so nice...took me about 16 hours to port everything.

I want to get some pictures before I button it up.

Has anyone ever driven a ported head car with stage 2 electronics and custom trim Garrett...?

I also ported out the turbo, both sides....

Damn Levi! if i can run 12's with a stock turbo and no port work you must be going for 11's  hope to see it run at TR trackday.
p.s. if need anything give me a ring

hope you didnt touch the floor of the ports.

That port job will = less flow than stock

Hell yeah I wanna run 12s or 11s. My goal is to beat you buddy...lol..

I basically looked at the ported heads Garys sells for $1850, and ported it like that one...if it works cool, cool,I will be very pleased.. and if not, I got another head here and another new headgasket from MP...

But I don't see any reason why porting the head would make it run worse..I have been porting heads since I was little..and never seen or heard of such a problem..I even ported heads for George Peel and Southern Style racing engines, Jeff where did you learn this from? Not trying to be a jerk, but I want to learn more about this..Please.

I heard the same thing about porting, but when asked Gary he wouldn't say, it was right or wrong, but just you need to be running the correct parts..I assume he meant turbo parts..

Thanks mike, I think I am good on stuffs. I stripped the block down and clean it up, pulled most the parts you wanted.

I think i heard from gary himself a while back, or someone else who knows their deal. He says cutting into the floor will cause it to flow worse. I have no idea why... im not a porter.. ive never done one and probably wont.

Thats very odd, as you should see the heads Gary ports out, the floor is all gone. I didn't go quite that far, I did half of the dropped floor, but all other edges were cut out.

I guess we will see if it works good or not...stay tuned.

To bad you don't have some before/after dyno numbers.

i dunno levi.. lol, hope yours works!

Brian, he could always just throw on a stock CDM head and get some base dyno #'s

I got another stock head here off my GLH-S that I can throw on and see what numbers show up..
