A big block 240 or 260Z with a huge cowl hood and like 30" drag tires went from about 40 mph. I put a few cars on him through two gears. From a stop he would have surely launched me by many cars though. Was a pretty good looking setup.

The on the way home to motorcycles flew past us. Saw them at the next light and rev'ed at them. So he got right behind me and when a spot cleared he opened it up to fly by......When he was at my rear bumper and had a few MPH closing speed on me I nailed it with both stages. Stopped his gain immediately and then put about two cars on him through 2nd and 3rd. We ran again from a 20 roll with a more even start this time. Put about 3+ cars on him. It was a new Honda F4i. He gave me a thumbs up and we went on our way.

I headed out to Setser's, then to the spot, but couldn't find you or Shalane. When I finally decided to head home, I was approached by a '98ish Cobra Mustang with a huge cowl hood. We hit it from a 3rd gear roll twice, and a 2nd gear roll once, and I was able to pull away pretty decisively, all motor baby! The guy was really cool, and told me his car was a stroker 331, with ported heads, cam, & etc. Nice setup.

So when we gonna roll again, Big Al???

 

hey Al, was that 240/260 you races yellow and brown i think? if it was ive seen him at gandy and BMP a few times and wasnt really sure what he ran cause they were all N/T, did have a stopwatch though and kept getting around 11.4 with it.

 

Yeah..I just spoke to someone who knows of the car. Its a dog on motor but runs low 10s on spray. Bark is worse tha his bite I guess.

 

low 10's on spray? i take it he wasnt spraying, or it would have been a closer run.
