Default Will Pay For Correct Diagnoses!!

MY friends 92 bird is acting up, with our limted v8 knowlwdge combine we cant figure it out and dont want to bring it to a shop and say "we dont know whats wrong with it". thats what they dream about at night.

its either

A. TRANNY, which is an AUTO!!! fuckbeans
B. rear end
C. torque converter is crapped out?

he can go in reverse fine, NO forward gears anymore whatsoever.

put it in 1st, rev car,( i looked under and the axle was not moving at all). i think the tranny is shot

I am betting on the trany. If it was the TC it would not go into reverse. Remember the TC on an auto kinda works like a clutch on a manual car.

I could always use the extra cash

Torque converter isnt your problem if you can go in reverse like gunslinger said.

Put the car in 1st gear and see if the drive shaft turns. If the shaft doesnt turn that its your tranny.

If it does than its your rear end but i doubt it is your rear cuz reverse still works...

i accept ramen noodles, alcohol, and fake ID's to get the under age girls i date into the clubs. :o

Drop the tranny pan,and check the filter out.then refill with fresh fluids.its worth a shot just to see if its you prob, that way you can see how much junk is in the bottom of the pan, goodluck.later

Its not that hard to diagnose the problem guy.
Do like I said to isolate the problem. Once you figure that out ask the shops how much they charge. if its too much come back here and ask again.
I mean what the hell.. if it is the tranny and someone comes down to work on it he's not gonna finish it that day because your friend doesnt have a new one ready to be put in, plus who ever does it is goign to have to drive to where you are unless u have it towed.. Running around for parts is a pain the ass especially when your gonna get paid less than what a shop is and its gonna take longer..
And if your friend wants it fixed he'll be the one asking for help on here. Let him worry about his problem.
