View Full Version : My radiator

After seeing a few people that I barely know at Shell on 9th, I was looking for someone to run just for the hell of it. After some debate we decided I should run ImportSSlayer (He doesn't post yet, but has a user name I guess). Newer Camaro SS with a lid and performance ECU program. Very impressive run, got me by about a car and a half. Very quick for so little mods...makes me wonder ;) Either way, we're slowing down after the run and I hear a weird noise...slowing down for the light...stop completely...smoke. Everywhere. Open the hood...coolant. Everywhere. Turns out my perma-cool fan came dislodged from its spot on the radiator and decided to shred some holes in it. I don't know what's worse right now, the kill by the Camaro or my kill against the radiator.
By the way, if anyone knows where I can get a Griffin GRI-1-25241-X for less than $181.99 I would really appreciate it.

Have you considered getting a Fulidyne?

Yes I have considered it.
However I see no need to spend the $300 or more on that when I can get a Griffin made for GM (Small block) and have no cooling problems at all for about $120 (or more) less.

That's about what the Camaro's will do with those mods, did you run from a stop? sux about your radiator though.

Performance Radiator, its in clearwater, by far the cheapest radiator supplier around, you get a 3yr warrantee aswell as long as you dont use tap/faucet water in the radiator. high quality aluminum i believe, some are copper.

The radiator is currently at a repair shop...
I wasn't too fond of the idea, didn't know if it would cool as adequately as it did before...but my dad assures me I'll be alright. There were only about 3 small (pin) holes in it.
Thanks for the advice, if I look into getting a new one I'll check that place out.
