Hey man. I think there is a seperate temp sensor for the fans. The coolant sensor is on the block but i think there is a sensor underneath the water pump.. I'll check it out on mine if i have time today. that could be the problem.

Eric... Yeah there is a sensor on your pump that we over looked. It controls when your fans come on.
The temp sensor on the block sends the temp reading to your gauge cluster while the one on the water pump sends the signal to the PCM. Bet 9 to 10 thats the problem.
