This is from dodgetrucks.com...
My boss has a buddy who works for the Chrysler proving grounds, and he's always telling me about what's going on over there.
Here's the news..........
You all know about the soon to be released SRT-4. Well, he has heard they are going to offer a performance package on that (I know I thought he was confused with the R/T and SRT-4) But he said this "Performance" SRT-4 will have 2 doors, it'll run 17" wheels wide tires, sits lower and has an addition 50hp over the stock 215hp.
I guess he seen a prototype on the track and it was running 166mph, it didn't get there as quick as a viper but 166mph is amazing in a neon. And then my boss told me how the 166mph will definitely be governed, but well see. He also told me it'll sticker at $27,000 American.
I know I think $27,000 is outrageous to, but it'll be funny as hell to see a neon "out of the box" running mid to high 13's LOL
This is a very reliable source, so it's possible DC is beginning to step it up.......

I love high RPM's
I'll call BS....why because im a Second gen Neonite and i know for a fact that Chrysler has no intention nor the budget to add another vehicle line to the Belvidere Assembly facility in IL. Now i will add that the car he might be reffering to is the 1st gen coupe PVO is working on so that they can bring out swap kits for 1st and 2nd gen owners to create their own sick SRT wannabes. The 2nd gen neon was designed as a sedan only and the only way Chrysler can and would bring the coupe back is when they start producing the next neon based on the *cough* Lancer*cough* platform...lets hope the 2.4 stays and we get no rebadged Evo VIII for our next SRT-4 installment although AWD 2.4 would kick ass.
Gawd I so want a newer car, keep thinking first gen neon 2dr with a 2.4 turbo
Darn K car why can't you be fast right now!!!!
