Default TDO4 vs T25/28

My buddy just ripped off the the stock TD04 from his 07 WRX sti and it's in awesome shape and a decent price. My original plans were to run a s15 T28 but now im considering this. I tried looking on forums and what not but everything that came up was for volvos. Anyone have any experience running these on a s13 Sr, and knows the benefits with running one?

They came is VF39/43, not TD04. The WRX came with TD04.

Either way, I don't recall those being ball bearing and you would have to run customized hot pipe and downpipe for minimal gain.

I would go with a t28 over that. Simply because it doesnt bolt on. td04-13g is what came on automatic DSMs in 1989. This has a slightly larger turbine. Its maybe a 250whp turbo. How much does he want for it? What are your goals for the car?

Here is the compressor map. You can see it maxes out about .17 m^3/sec, or a bit shy of 400CFM. Also you are going to be way out of efficiency if you want to run more than 1 bar of boost...

I had a friend that was going to run one on his ka. IMO it's a waste of time, stick to a s15 turbo.

Yeah i did some more research last night and talked to a few friends as well, and after rerading everyone's post i think it would be pointless to run it. On another note. I also have a friend who is almost giving away his APG .50 trim and 38mm wastegate to me. What are your thoughts on that. My goals are around 300-350whp safely. My buddy Will (weekendwarrior) ran a T3/T4 on his sr that put down 340hp and 302tq, and that thing was a monster. So thoughts on the .50 trim?

You'll like the 50 trim. Not too big, not too small.

my bad on the typo.

Yeah i think im going to go with that in stead. It's practically brand new and a good price. RS Enthalpy tune on top should be reliable as well. Better than a SAFC i was planning.
