Do you guys think caps really help out, or just create a drain on the system?

Do you think you should just go with a better alternator or what.

I'm running 800w rms and a little bit more on my headunit.

I have a 70 amp alternator and I know it's not enough.

and it wouldnt really matter cap or not..I ran 1300 watts without one for a while... no big power issues, my headlights dimmed just a shade... but it ate my alternator..it would have anywyas with a cap...
