My system is all in and I've encountered my first problem. I had the system installed by a local shop (that will remain nameless for now) just because i didnt want to do the work by myself. My problem is that while listening to the system the power to the mids and highs will fade in and out. This can be caused by turning up the system, hitting a bump, or it will just happen at random. The only 2 ways i can fix it is by opening the passenger side door slightly and then closing it or waiting for the power to come back to the speakers. Someone please offer and suggestions as to what I should do. The stereo shop that it was installed at says that its a screwed amplifier that the speakers are hooked to. Although I have my doubts.............

They ran the power with a 8 or 10 guage wire to 2 amps. I cant remember exactly which one it was. I may just take it back to them and let them fuck with it.

Did you end up using the rubi 1002? If so i hope you are using at least 4 gauge wire.

I'll keep that in mind..... however, I fixed my problem. :D It was being caused by a speaker terminal that was grounding out on my door. All I had to have done was to bend the terminal out of the way of the door. Now the systems works the way it should. WOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Ok new problem.

The mids and highs put out a high pitch screetch when the system is turned on. Also there is quite a bit of motor noise now as compared to before. Ive checked all the wires to the amps and crossover. Any suggestions?

that would be a bad ground in the system. check all your grounds and make sure the ground coming off of the amp do not exceed 16 inches from the amp. and try for a chasis ground if possible.

check the grounds.. I made my own grounds but anythign solid and bare metla normally wins..of course I still hasd a shade of alt whine, so I got some nice RCA's (read 200 dollars) and rewired my entire car
