View Full Version : FSF Autox 9/8/02 -- anyone interested in helping out extra?

Well, the next FSF autox is coming up quick. As some of you may or may not know, a good portion of our core event staff will be at Nationals in Topeka, KS that weekend (Neal, Katie and I think maybe will?. Dunno about the dynamic duo from Gainsville -- Jesse the boy wonder n Shawn). Anyhow, that leaves us short handed for event staff. What I'm hoping is that there's a few TR people who will step up and help out a little bit extra.
If any of you have been considering getting more involved, this would be a perfect time.
If you're interested, PM me.

If I'm not busy with school, I'll come down for the weekend and help out with registration, even though I most likely won't be driving.

Why aren't you going to be driving?

The Integra sucked, have nothing else to drive really. Have been offered up usage of the big nasty black Cobra, however.

Honestly, a couple of people who can commit to being there at 7am would be great. We can't start registration until the tent is up, the tables are out of the truck and the generator is started. Of course, before that can be done, we have to have someone at the gate to have people sign the waiver and hand out armbands. Of course, then there's the setup of the timing system and the timer board, the PA system. There is just a TON of stuff that happens in the first 30 minutes or so and with some of the core people being gone at nationals it could make things run really rough unless we get some people who are willing to step up and help out a little bit extra.
It would also be nice to get a few extra REGULARS who want to learn how the automatic timing/scoring system works.

Yeah, I know I'm a bitch, but you weren't on the staff list for the discussion we had about needing extra help, and I wanted to give people as much heads up as possible. So :P

I have to work at 3pm....if I can help out early that would be great, then I can make the event and get to work on time. Unless I get called into work for some reason, otherwise you can count on me early too. 7am right?
Should I bring some sidewalk chalk too...last time I helped out early, I helped mark the cones on the course, I remember running out of chalk and having to use grease pencil on the asphalt. I can bring some if need be.

Bleh, Mother's B-day on the 8th so I may/may not be able to make it. Oh well, wasn't going to have tires by then anyways. :(

Well....my car got smashed up by a SUV this week. Boohoo!
It'll survive, but I doubt it'll be back by race day. So my chances of being there for race day are dwindling. I could however race my stock 95 Nissan 4 banger pickup. Hmmmm...I dunno if it would be worth shelling out 20 bucks to race a stupid truck though.
