ok peeps
ok. so as many of you know I ended up picking up a semi built motor. Well I came to the decision that i'm gonna throw the motor in a boost it. Now here's my delema, i've never built a boost setup, let alone run a boosted car.
Before I continue heres the mod list so far...
.20 wiseco 8:8:1 pistons
eagle rods
crane 12 cams
AEM adjustables
full crower valvetrain
also the cars a 420a running on Megasquirt
yes, not an incredibly built motor, but for the $250 I paid for it
I'm not looking to hit 400+ whp or anything and i'm working with some friends and peicing together everything else (fuel system, cooling, what-not..) But I'm not entirely sure of what kind of power i'm hoping to acheive but around 300hp would be cool, if even possible with the motor lol.
I'm hoping I can push anywhere between 10-15lbs of boost. I would love to run a 20g turbo on the car but with the 8:1 pistons I feel i'd have a decent amount of boost lag so that kind of has me leaning towards a 16g. Like stated I've never built a boosted motor so would like any input with turbo select, thanks you

If you can get your hands on this book - Amazon.com: Turbo: Real-World High-Performance Turbocharger Systems (S-A Design) (9781932494297): Jay K. Miller: Books
It explains in great detail about how to properly setup a turbocharging system from the ground up. It will eliminate any "hearsay" and bullshit advice that typically floats around forums. See if you can rent it from a library or something if you do not want to buy it.

You keep trashing that motor. lol. What makes you think it wont hold 400hp? Are the cranks weak on the 420 or something?
I think you would have plenty of fun with a 16g and some 650cc...evo 9/walbro190, ebay front mount..etc. Nice cheap setup.

and ya, I asked dave about the crank and ya, theres rumors about them being weak but theres a rumor about every car isn't there? haha but ya, I am leaning towards the 16g.
