Default Total seal rings...

So whose used em and who hates/loves em...?

I put a set in my 360 because I heard they helped with your hp/tq, oil loss and such things that follow. Well I was also told it takes a little bit for them to seal to the cylinder walls. So I bought that expensive little can of quickseat dry film powder, again because I was told that helps as well. Well they engine is smoking and its struggling to hold 100lbs of comp in each cylinder, where this engine should be making a metric fuck ton more than that. The heads internals are brand new, and no the rings weren't installed upside down.

Any advice, other than to get gapped rings... I really dont wanna do away with them because they were $300 rings. Any tips for a young buck?

Thanks for being honest. Four more votes from your side and the rings get tosses, along with my $300

I guess what im trying to figure out is how other people have had good luck with them but these are, shit...? Were atta loss for ideas right now. I tossed around the idea of getting a set of lightweight drilled skirtless pistons but those are so fucking illegal and my comp would be through the roof.

Are these the gapless rings? Did you check all the rings in the bore prior to install? Go to Total Seals web page and they give what the endgaps should be set at. I heard this was real critical or the ends may butt causing them not to seal. Check this out Jeff

Yep, gapless. They were checked in the cylinders and came out perfect. After reading that, they were installed properly, everything is correct, but just need more run time...?

I heard they can be a biatch to seat and Ive heard of some of them not seating, but most chalked it up to improper install. Jeff is there a lot of blow by?

Not "alot" like its blowing up. Were gonna take it out on the backroads in Manatee, and these bitchs are either gonna seat or its gonna get worse.

From what I gather, you gotta romp these rings or they wont seat. Cant let it idle and expect them to seat. Gonna be back later with more updates.

If you dont have alot of blowby...I would look into the valve adjustment. And thier tech says not to let it idle
