Can anyone tell me why?
my air conditioner is blowing air that smells like eggs? it just happened all of a sudden about a week ago. the air is nice and cold but it stinks so friggin bad i have to roll the window down. oh yea and the car is a 99 Civic HX. thanks for any input!

what you have there is a dirty cabin air filter. Go ahead and get your self a new one, and get a can of something to spray into the vents to clean it. Run it on recirculate so it's pulled through the entire ductwork system

You might also have a partially clogged drain on the evaporator. Find drain tube and blow air threw it. The water left in the pan or on evap is turning to bacteria. Turn on A/c and switch to OUTSIDE air and spray Lysol or odorizer into cowl to kill it. When running your A/c before you reach destination switch from Recirc to outside air should solve the problem. If you have a cabin filter it is probably a good time to change it.

yeah, clean the evaporator and make sure your drain tube isn't clogged....fyi cabin filters didnt start in civics till 2001. Get yourself some ac deodorizer and a disinfectant also.....

you sir are correct ^ i went to advance and they told me theres no cabin air filter. where can i get the can of spray that you can spray in the cowling and make the AC smell good?
