I have a 91 civic hatch full interior AEM intake and exhaust w/ stock cat and exhaust manifold that have 150k on it. w/ a crappy 60ft 2.4 the car ran a 14.83at 95mph is this pretty good for what i have done.

Any comments on what i can do to launch at better any suggestions and how i can get to 2.2or 2.1 that would put me near 14.5. im running on street tires kumo's tire pressure and rpm what should i launch at?

do you have a swap ?(your #'s look like you have a b16 mabe?) what rmp did you launch at ?

seems like you got an SIR1 swap.


Try lowering the tire pressure some into the upper 20s then rev it up and try different RPMS, start with about 3000rpm and then go up or down from there. you want it to where it will launch with A LITTLE spin, but very minimal. also feel if the tires are flatting out or if your getting wheel hop, doubt much hop will occur on a lowered pressure though.

Yes its an sir swap i was launching around 3500 i guess thats just a little to much for the tires i have (kumos)

I would launch at a little higher rpm, 5-6K.
Sure the tires will spin, but when they hook up
you will be going a lot faster than if you dumped it at 3500.
Just be ready to shift quickly.

The less time you spend below 5500 rpms, the better. 8)

My experience has been with the coupe though. You may not bog as bad as me, being that you are lighter. I definitely need to launch at > 5000 rpms.

if its not hooking up at 3500, then dont go higher and achieve less traction.

your first order of business should be to ditch the shitty kumho ecsta 712's.
They don't hook for shit, if you really want to get good times go with a good set of drag radials. that will help you out a lot.

yeah i say get some better rubber then try some new launch's i used to be a high launcher when i drag raced i would lauch at liek 5k but i have perfected a new launch at just 2k so play with it the b16 has no torque so i would say lauch high 4k an up
