The 'proud to be american' sticker on that lebaron

really high wings (super birds)

"Z3" fender louvers.. on an 85 New Yorker (or something)

factory turbo cars

DIS in 91 (ronda started doing it in 2000)

(add to the list)

Chargers had louvres on the fenders back in the 70's sheesh how could you forget that? Performance $ banger FWD cars in the 80's

FearThe4Doors
07-13-2002, 02:44 AM
cudas did too..

i saw a new yorker today and thunk of it. It would be better to show one of them to a ricer than a charger or cuda though... LOL

Not sure, but i think they created the space saver spare.

Damn that was back in the 70's also. It was such a hit they made em standard on Hondas.

leadfootedfool

Imagine how bad it would be without that :D

I like the one about how they put a washer under the passenger side engine mount to help reduce torque steer.

Lori also told me that they did clear lenses. I forgot all about that. Our 67 Coronet, 73 Duster, 77 Van, and Our Power Wagons (74-75) all have clear corner lenses.

Honda has had those for a long time as well.

I won't say 70's cuz I don't know for sure, but at least as early as the 80's.

Thats right I remeber that. Hence the question marks. Couldn't remember another car off hand. BTW how is his car? Or has it taken the backseat to his new toy?Hmmmm I think Pontiac was the first for body color bumpers!??!

BIG_Truck_Driver
07-17-2002, 03:09 PM
eh, it's not really back seat to the 91, but money is tight and he has some issues with it that are taking some time to sort out.

I want him to put it on the dyno to figure out what's up with his a/f.

rb70383
07-17-2002, 03:12 PM
Cool. What do you think hwe is running hp wise? He ever do any body work yet?

BIG_Truck_Driver
07-17-2002, 03:27 PM
no body work yet, it's very necessary now, rust is eating all the way through in some spots.

he was supposedly over 400hp on the old 400 block, used the same heads and comparable cam on the 468 block also bumped up the compression to 10.5:1, which we are thinking is too high. traction is a serious issue in 1st and 2nd, 3rd slips too much if he gets on it, so we are going to swap in a 4 spd when he gets the parts needed.

Ok, as far as Honda is concerned, equal length half shafts with an intermediate shaft debuted in the 86 civic wagon awd.

Actually, quite a few HiPo turbo dodge guys are running the UNequal length axles with no huge problems. I think they're about the same... b/c my spirit with equals torque steers like a bitch

I like the one about how they put a washer under the passenger side engine mount to help reduce torque steer.

Dodge did that from the factory on all turbo cars

Yip my Shadow has them also. It is the 5-speed Turbo. No not tranny either, a 5 speed turbo. yip you read it write. Actually is a 5-speed tranny and Turbo, Turbo is used to pressurize air to release the tranny for the clutch. It takes alot of air to move the tranny back enough to disengage the input shaft splines on the axles so the wheels are disengaged to ease up on the torque so my N2O assited shifters can move the tranny over into 2nd gear. But since all my linkages isnt hooked up i just start with 12 inch tall tires for first and when I want second I get out and move up to 22 inch front tires, for second. Then since i have a close ratio 3rd gear the tires are only 27 inch tall. I love my overdrive, I get great gas mileage with my 44 inch swamppers on the front. 120MPH at a RCH above idle speed.
