89 civic Gas pedal response!!! stays stuck when i press the gas!!

Default 89 civic Gas pedal response!!! stays stuck when i press the gas!!

i got a 89 civic d15b2 manual tranny... when i press the gas i have to pull it back or else it stays stuck at around 3k rshared_pm... when i pull i back it idles perfect... i've tried wd40 the throttle body... but im a little lost of ideas...thanx for the help guys!!

Lube the throttle cable..you need to get oil down into the sheath.

no luck!! lubed it but does the same!!.. i think it has something to do with that thing thats right under the DPFI carburator looking thing that attatchs to the throttle body... where the cable connects

its like a little rod... were you accelerate the throttle...into the bottom of the dpfi carberator looking thing.. lol ..anyways im gonna get sleep ... start again tomorrow!!! thanx for your help!!

Thats the secondary butterfly in the carb, and it shouldnt stop the main one from closing

i dont know but when i pull the pedal back that little rod goes up a little and the idle goes back to normal... i'll try and see if there is a way i can adjust that upwards a tad bit...

or maybe if i put a stronger spring at the pedal ... i dont know... i'll try and play around with everything...

try replacing the cable.

How did you lube the cable? You have to disconnect it, and get the oil down the sheath, while working it back and forth till it goes through the whole thing.

yea i took the cable off and lube it... real good... but i dont think thats the problem... you know the little peice you move with your finger to rev the engine from inside the engine bay... once i rev it.. it doesnt come all the way back.. it gets stuck like 2cm's from where it needs to go.. then i have to manually pull it back.. whether it be at the pedal or there with my fingers... i tried lubing that... but it just feels like there is some resistance there.. i dont know... F$%k it i'll just go mpfi... lol that'l fix it!!! jk
