Got any more info on it? I'm trying to make it to one autox but something always comes up.
I'll be there with a cup of coffee trying to wake my tired ass up. The 6am drive there is going to kill me... :( :(

I'll be there for sure.
Remember, this is a Southeast Division SCCA event, and one of the requirements is that all comprtitors must be SCCA members.
Check out the Sediv SOLO II website at www.sedivsolo2.com and read the supplemental regulations. Membership applications should be available at registration.
Also, plan to be there early, so you don't arrive after registration closes.
Good luck. Gainesville is an awesome site, and over 200 cars will be there.
See ya there.

From what i heard, this auto x is already booked, if you don't have a spot reserved you won't be able to run. Has anybody heard otherwise????

Check out the Sediv website. The entry limited has been lifted.
Gainsville is one of the best courses I have ever seen.. its well worth the trip to compete or even watch.
I wont be in attendance however, be finalizing my apartment move and settling in :)

I'm planning on being there on Sunday if all goes well this week.
It's true that GIR is one of the best SoloII/I sites in Florida. This event should be well worth the short trip to gvillie for any Tampa folks considering going. :) :) :) Are any TR.com folks running in STX this weekend @GIR??

<rant>Yeah, kinda like the "cool people" autox on Saturday this past weekend. :x Some of us paying SCCA members have a life outside the SCCA and don't have the time or desire to kiss butt all the time and think it's a bit unfair when certain NON-SCCA members get SPECIAL butt kisser treatment. I feel that I should not have to kiss anyones butt participate in ALL/ANY SCCA events allowable by the rules.</rant>
I know I'm crying here but it still seems a little messed up to me.

There were no non SCCA members there. Frank put it best in the drivers meeting. No one is required to do any more than show up, work their worker assignment, make their runs and leave. There is nothing wrong with that for those who only want to put forth that much effort. No criticism there. For those who put forth additional effort to make it happen for everybody, there are additional benefits. You should be glad people are willing to work extra hard so you don't have to....

Based on my assumptions that might or might not be correct this is how I see the situation.
1) The site was rented for Saturday & Sunday(I assume nothing is free). As a member of the SCCA we pay a membership fee that help/pays(?) for the site rental. I don't care how much someone works if something is being backdoored out of a budget specifily set aside for ALL SCCA members events.
2) Saturday means quite a few additional runs that make it pretty unfair to the the people that don't get that Saturday special invite. Some people ran the course all day on Saturday giving them a serious advantage on Sunday. I assume the course did not even change that much if any.
3) I don't see any provisions in the SCCA rules books for these type of events practice or not. Please don't get me wrong, I think the organizers should be rewared for the efforts. It only concerns me because how is someoone suppose to know that the membership dues are being handling correctly if these type of things are being done behind the scenes outside the published rules with any notice to the paying members?
I'm certainly not against people that put extra effort towards these events receiving special privledges and as a matter of fact I think all that work should be rewarded. I also think these rewards should be done fairly and this should not be something that happens behind the scenes without eveyone knowing and having a fair chance at. Please don't flame me here I'm just trying to point out a possible external point of view. I don't feel very strongly about the the issue either way but it's hard to ignore that someone might get upset.

1. We paid on Saturday and the fairgrounds site is very inexpensive. This kind of thing could never be done at GIR as it is VERY expensive.
2. The rulebook has specific stipulations that no competitors get early/preferential practice runs on the event course. In order to comply with this the course was different Sunday than it was Saturday. Not to mention that it was a miserable rainy day.
3. Your concern was addressed by point one. It was the first time that it was done and it was announced immediately after. And you drive a WRX, so you haven't exactly paid dues.... :P
A big part of the reason for doing it is because more help is needed in order for events to take place and there is hope that this will . (Didn't you notice how late FSF events got started this year compared to sites like GIR (thank you Shawn Phillips) and the East Coast sites. We lose Shawn at the end of the year as he is moving away (most likely to Pensacola), so unless we find someone to replace him up there, GIR may go away as an event site.... :(

I'll shut up now that I said stupid bullshit clearly illustrating that I have no idea of what i'm talking about and made a total assclown out of myself and just in general pissed people off. 8) I need to learn to keep my mouth shut when I'm pissed off over unrelated crap. Thank you. ;) :)

I'm getting in late on this as you were on mine. As lola56 pointed out the entry ban was lifted AFTER I had posted, not the fact that I have a problem reading. Personally I don't appreciate the condescending attitude you seem to have with everybody, much less stating something that has already been said by another member, lola56.
Thank you lola for pointing this out, and hopefully by the next fsf autox my car will be ready and possibly take a few notches out of your attitude cobra.

Yeah, How DARE I answer the question when it's already been answered. Heck, it was answered before you even asked it.... It's written in on http://www.sedivsolo2.com/ that the Entry limit was lifted, so yeah, I am a bit condescending when you're given information about the event, but don't bother to take any time to read it and ask questions that are answered plain as day. It's just like the myriad of people that ask what time the autox starts or how much it costs after the flyer has been posted. Go read it... it's all there. I swear... we should start calling this tampabottlefd.com.

Go ahead and have that attitude problem Leonard, just don't come bitching here when you guys start bitching about not enough people showing to events to keep them going.

I would love to attend, but between this fact and other obligations this weekend I will not be attending. If I am lucky the car will go into the shop before the weekend.
Now is it just me or is Leonard a little extra uppity since his victory over the porsche?
Perhaps all that glory has gone to his head, but I feel there is some automotive karma building up here and if I remember the equation correctly you get back like 4X the results of your actions. I think Leonard needs to pay a little more attention to the negative side of his balance sheet.
I will still be comparing my times (non-adjusted) to Leonards at each even we both attend, so it will be interesting to see what occurs once I fix up the porsche and put some Kumhos on it.
I just know I will be a lot nicer about my position in the auto-x world once the table is turned.

I received the following email last night>>>>

ON-SITE REGISTRATION allowed. All entrants must pre-register prior to the
cut-off date. Anyone who shows up and is not confirmed as being
pre-registered will be turned away, no exceptions. Please register online

it may be just me (but I am pretty damn sure it is not) ... but is Lenny beginning to be an ass? (more-so than usual?, we don't mind the usual... but real quick)
Change your damn tampon Leonard. Or we'll buy you a box of [glow=violet]Playtex and mount them to your trunk.
