Lightbulb Just bought a 99 civic EX coupe, performance questions

I am just getting started with the whole racing scene, so I bought a car that can be modified for cheap and has alot of choices ( from what I heard)

So my question is, what can I do to improve the performance ? How much and where do I get these parts at ?

Sorry for being such a noob with this

If you look at the top of the main Honda/acura section there is a for sale area. Some good stuff in there

If your car is has a stock d-series don't listen to this guy. If you have a d-series the best way for you to go is boosting it, or you can swap the motor for a bigger one like a b-series engine. Tell us more about your car and you can get better answers.

I would swap the motor first, and it just so happens i have a complete ls long block for sale for $400. Its out of a 98 teg and has 82,*** miles on it. You will get many answers to your questions on here, like boost your d series or go b series and some people just say your screwed you drive a honda. But in the end it comes down to what you want out of your car. Tell us what exactly you are looking for out of your car and we can provide further help.

Ok what i want from this car is a car to work on and keep for 2 to 3 years really, engine swap just sounds expensive as hell( not the engine it self, 400 is nothing) but labor Im guessing, and I dont wanna change tranny really, just boost it, Im not even workin on the visuals cuz i dont want it to be called a ricer ya know, rims and lowering it thats it to the outside for now, oh and HIDs

Well since its automatic you really shoudn't even worry about performance, as for looks I would personally go with some coilovers and some clean real wheels. If anything just leave it stock and it will be a good dd. Always keep up with your maintenance thats the most important part of your car.
