Nice Hitec RCD in the background :)

That thing has dual runner lengths? I didn't know that. Does it flow air through both at the same time or does it switch back and forth depending on rpm?

Also does anyone know where I can find a page on a Neon SOHC head conversion for a 2.2/2.5. I know there are some pages out there where people are trying to mate them to 2.2 blocks, I just cannot remember where I found them.

I know they were talking about it on the mailing lists, but that is the best I can offer off the top of my head. Later I'll check 808's email and see if I can find anything, Jeff might be able to tell you sooner.

I dont know of any pages up yet. A guy named Brian Schwochart or something was the one who was making the most progress on it. He had a page with some pics. No clue where though.

And dont the stock neon intakes have dual runner lengths?

Wonder if that intake would work on the DOHC? I can'y for the life of me remember the differences between them other than cam numbers

In my eyes the only reason for having DOHC is for the 4 valves per a cylinder. But since the SOHC neon has that already, I'll take one cam thank you :)

what about being able to phase each cam independantly??

but with 2 cams you get more "fine" tuning, you can adjust the intake and exhaust centerline seperatly(sp).

the key is to use a cam phaser from another car and adapt it to work on yours. Make your own vtec so to speak. Retard and advance the cams on the fly as the rpm changes. Have the car make gobs of torque at first, then move the cams to make it a top end car. Even Donna loves it!

I like the sound of that. A Neon w/ V-TEC. Imagine the possibilities.

it wouldnt really be vtec... i would just be playing with the cam advancement... not duration or lift... no seperate cam lobes. But still, cam timing alone can give you big increases! Only problem is, it's a trade off. Do you want bottom end or top end? With a phaser, you get them both!
