How can I tell if my 5.0 is original motor
My friend and I both have a fox mustangs that have been through a few hands,
I was wondering what is the best way (if there is one) to be able to tell if the block is original to the car. Wondering if the motor has ever been swapped. Is there a code somewhere on the engine that can be cross referenced with the VIN or something? Just curious.
I have a '93 LX 5.0 Thanks or any suggestions.

none that I know of either.....Why the curiosity? Maybe Carfax and compare odometer? If its a true low mileage car, you should be able to tell as long as the K memeber hasnt been repainted. Usually scraped up on the mount perches if it has been swapped
I was just curious mostly. You know you hear all about old muscle cars being "numbers matching" I just thought it'd be nice to know some history about my car. I like to try to find out as much as I can about any old project car I have so I know it's story and can pass it on. I'm pretty certain its an original motor with 83K miles. But I was hoping to find out for sure.
My friend found an old post from like 5-6 years ago on a mustang forum that has his exact car in it. He saw pictures of it and everything. Turns out his car once had a much hotter motor in it, then it was swapped to something more streetable which is whats in it now.

THE PRICE IS WRONG BITCH!!!

I think he was looking for more of a # that matched a vin sequence to verify it as an original motor that came in that specific car.
