Figured out what the HKS box was that I have in the TSi.
here's a quote from a site:
"The PFC F-CON is a pug-in fuel computer designed to supplement and refine the OE specified fuel curve. PFC F-CONs perform their function by modifying the factory specific injector pulse width based on information obtained from the OE ECU and the absolute pressure transducer included with the F-CON. This information is compiled by the F-CON and the resulting signal can allow for a longer pulse width for factory injectors or it can take advantage of larger injectors to ensure a proper air/fuel ratios during high air now conditions. HKS includes with each applicable F-CON a device known as the Fuel Cut Defencer (FCD). Several types of FCDs are made that raise the fuel cutoff point. This additional component allows the PFC to be effective at boost levels that would normally shut down the factory fuel system. The FCD, except in the case of Toyota's 1990 and newer 3SGTE engine, should not be used without an F-CON or some type of supplemental fuel system because the FCD will adversely alter fuel delivery without the addition of supplemental systems. The F-CON is installed by simply plugging in the supplied factory quality wiring harness, mounting and plugging in the pressure sensor, and plugging in the FCD where applicable. The installation of the F-CON provides the owner the opportunity to return the vehicle to stock conditions by simply removing the unit and harness. While the F-CON is preprogrammed with a ROM for each application, there is built-in adjustability accessible from within the F-CON to compensate for alterations to the HKS staged upgrades."
now I know. And if it has this.... what the hell ELSE did the guy add to necessitate it? I am WONDERING NOW! NOW I just need a tranny...

I'll keep that in mind...
would you rather just have the car to go with the GCC?
I'll cut you a big deal off the $3000 OBO I am trying to sell it for.
Just as a blatant PLUG, I'll tell you about it.
1990 Black Talon TSi AWD
16g upgrade
K&N
HKS F-CON
3"dia HKS exhaust to rear axle
JDM (J-spec) head (who knows what cams)
recently done timing belt and gaskets etc.
energy suspension bushings & subframe bushings (not installed)
GAB front and rear strut tower braces
GAB front and rear adjustable shocks
2G front brakes, slotted discs
steel braided brake lines (except inner hose on right front is rubber)
newer transfer case
AFAIK- Still needs the recall warranty work on the axle to stop a transfer case leak
Needs oil line to turbo (leaks)
Needs tranny work
Interior is in decent condition, i thought it was worse, but it just needs cleaned mainly
NO RUST
Straight body.
All I can think of.
The engine worked nicely when I drove it 90 miles, before the tranny FINALLY died. The tranny is welded together (to itself) and does not shift anymore.
the guy who sold it to be was a moron and had NO clue what he had in bolt ons alone.

that's what I was wondering... I can only hope ot was because he had some sort of GOOD turbo upgrade, but then again, it still has the stock piping... beyond me.
I bought it from a guy who fixed the head after another guy (CLUELESS) had paid alot of money to have a tuner make it fast, then he broke the timing belt and the head so he sold it to the fixed it guy for 300....
these people are TOOLS. The shocks and STBs alone are worth more than that. And it needs a tranny now. WHooooop deeedoo, if I only had the money to buy it.
someday.

or you can buy the car from me and fix it for yourself and have a very fast and turnable AWD talon...
$3k obo. and I mean OBO.
