Well my prized ebay purchase arrived today! A Panasonic DIGITAL Camcorder! So expect to see lots of racing footage from me! I was almost pissed too.. the lady sent me a different model camera than I had bought and wanted. I looked into it a little bit and it turns out the one she sent is $100 more than the one i bought. Shhhhhh....

This is the one i got..

Honestly the easiest way to convert regular video footage to digital is to plug your camcorder into a digital one and record it that way. You could also buy a video capture card but decent ones aren't that cheap ($200-400) for decent entry level cards

yeah, but this IS a digital camcorder. It has a usb to transfer. I just havent figured out how it works yet.

MMhey, yours should have a firewire connection for video and usb for still pics. Honestly the easiest way possible is if you have a Macintosh. Its just so much better. You should plug the camera in to firewire, play the video and record it through software that should be included. A digital camcorder performs the same function as a capture card, only better and for less money than a high end professional card.
