I respect that you are happy with your paint job and price. Bottom line is the customer is happy with what he paid for.
I recently had my car painted also and am very happy. Mine was slightly higher however with having body work done first. It is painted with PPG paint. If our cars were side by side I think you would better understand the difference. You can PM me.

yeah if you are not counting tape, paper, laquer thinner, reducer, activator, and that is if it is single stage, otherwise you also have to count in the clear and the proper additives for that.
they might seem low cost since you only use a little bit for a whole car but it adds up when you are doing alot of jobs as macco does.

It's been 4 months now for this paint job. We haven't waxed or buffed it out yet. But It's time now, I guess.

Anyway, no chips, runs waves, overspray or any other problems. It's still perfect.

I for one am tired of your bad mouthing everyone on here that was just trying to give you the advice you asked for in the first place. Get a life buddy, i have done four jobs since last time we talked on here, and might i add that it is a damn internet forum, let it go man,

Really i am glad you are happy with your job that got done and congrats to you, as long as the customer is happy with the work preformed then that is what the all the worker that did your car was out to do.

for the price you paid you seem very happy and that is great, when you asked me for a estimate and you were not willing to that it was fine until you called out every painter on this site and i backed up the ones that were telling the facts about the profession of paint and body work.
i will be posting pics of a mustang that i am getting ready for the booth first to mid part of next week that i take alot of pride in doing jobs like this one.
so, if you are ever looking to have a custom or really good job done then you will have to open you eyes to what it takes to make that happen, and you will not get that for under a grand.
sorry to say that but it is true, that job might last a year maybe even two! or three, but, the question is do you think it is worth all your time trying to disagree with the people that do this day in and day out? i guarantee that the jobs that pros do that cost a bit more will last ten times as long. what we were trying to say is you get what you pay for and in turn it pays out in the long run.
have a good one buddy and i think the car looks great! and like i said when ever we first started to write all this up in the start, if you are happy that is all that matters.

And you got it right. I spent about $750 and was and am happy with the paint job.

It would have been nuts to spend $2000 for a paint job for a car that, even though it only has 80K on the odometer and is probably good for another 120k, would bring a $3000 sale price on a good day.

i just got real tired of hearing "maaco sucks, maaco sucks, maaco sucks," from a lot of people.

They ain't the best, or anywhere near the best, that's for sure. But they're franchises and some are certainly better than others. That's the only point I was trying to make.

And I'm sure you would have, could have, done a better job. But I don't think you would pointed a paint gun at it for $750.

Maaco prepped it and painted it for that and did a pretty goddam good job. That's all I was trying to get across.

Generalizations suck. And people were generalizing about maaco just like they do about ethnic groups and a lot of other things.
