View Full Version : Anyone attending the Auto-x at Sebring on June 1-2

Just wondering if anyone is planning on attending the Sebring 2-day event on June 1-2. I will be there both days and staying overnight at the Chateau Elan Sat. night. Also is anyone coming up to Orlando for the event on May 26th at Valencia Community College? I will be at that one also.

Is this a Autocross or a track day? Does this actually take place on the track itself? Any other info? Contacts web links?

Are you sure its at Sebring? Chin is hold a track event at Roebling Road on the 1st and 2nd. If Chin isnt hold it do you know who is?

I dont know why anyone one would hold an auto-x at Sebring when there is a kick ass 3.7 mile track to run on?

yeah for what it cost to rent sebring it would just be silly to put a bunch of cones up dont get me wrong cones/autx are fun and all but for that much money I better be getting 3.7 miles of furious fun.

The SCCA has the site for that weekend to break in a new building they built recently.

The Solo2 people (which would be you guys) will be on the paddock and the front straight (not sure exactly where per se but I know part of the course will be ON the track though we will NOT be utilizing the course.

ALSO the Club Racers (actual race car types) will be using a smaller part of the course or actually what is called teh Club Course. WE are fully invited to go watch and learn about this form of racing.

If I am in attendance I will be in a rental car. WOOO HAAA!

It is an actual auto-x going on during a club race as 138MustangGT stated according to the Checker it will be taking place on the back stretch area and will be an all concrete courseand also supposed to be a long course. From what ive seen it is $30 but I have an email into Frank Edwards as to whether that $30 is for both days once I get a reply I will post the price info.

Well got my email back from Frank and he is saying it will be $30 for each day due to the cost of renting out the space. Oh well its supposed to be a very large course on concrete so Im still going anyways.

OK I see what they are doing. They are cutting the track in half. The auto-x will probably be held on the back staight as it is very wide and probably 1/2 mile long.

The club course is the part of the track that has the hair pin Fangio chicane and water tower turn. Its the best part of the track by far.

The Paddocks at Sebring are kick ass. The first thing Panoz did was redo the bathrooms and rebuild the paddock.

Should be a great event.

What kind of a drive am I looking at from Tampa to Sebring?

The event is a normal SOLO ll with pylons and will be
held on the 12 hour backstretch 3000x300 It should be
well over a minute course and will be a lot of fun. The
surface is concrete so having good tires will help.
Just need to check your car over for lugs being tight
and everything in good working order.

That was the response back from the event coordinator Garry. It sounds like its gonna be alot of fun and I will be attending. Im new to this site and it would be pretty cool to meet some of you guys/girls if you show up. Ill be in the Silver WRX with grey wheels.
