Would you rather pay someone like Jason Sink? He will use self tapers to mount the shit, and duct tape and super glue for the wiring connections..

If it were me, I would pay someone who knows wtf they are doing with it. Not cheap the fuck out and pay some retarded bum...

Martin at Z Fever is the only person that both: I trust, and will touch a Megasquirt.

BTW, Sink's MS disaster wound up at Z Fever to be fixed.

I am doing this to a customer's eclipse right now. If you have patience and decent wiring/soldering skills the installation is pretty straightforward. The MS community is very helpful if you have any problems. Let me know if you have any questions.

I recall talking to you today.
You do have to realize that what you are doing is essentially installing a from scratch EFI Standalone system... This is not cheap.. even if you start with a budget system.

Here is a breakdown of why it is so much.

MegaSquirt II Programmable EFI System PCB3.57 - Complete Assembled Unit DIYAutoTune.com

The basic kit is $405

The harness is $85

The optical wheel for your distributor is $45

A basic dummy ignitor / coil setup $150

(This is about as cheap as you can go and avert having to pay for mouting a 36-1 wheel on your crank pulley...)

A complete harness made specifically for your project will take 1.5 days (12hrs) to make.. This includes running everything to custom length, tapping in the necessary sensors, setting and adjusting ignition timing to the new wheel, running relays for the new efi system, fans, fuel, ignition.... etc

12x$82 / hr = $984 ... and as far as performance work, we are cheaper than the majority of shops around us, which charge over $100 / hr

On top of this, you still have to have it tuned from scratch. A full pump gas tune from 0 is $600 on any standalone... this is pretty much a industry average.. call around.

$2269.... is what I come up with going by very average shop prices... and skimping a little on the MSEFI setup.

I gave you a price of about $3000 over the phone because you had mentioned that you were doing a 280ZX turbo... So I figured you would want to probably do a electronic boost controller / FMIC etc... because what good is a standalone running 4 psi ?
