Forget to add there was a bil of sale drawn up that had been noterized..But i gave it to the buyer..Of course he says he cant find it

 

Of course he is going to say he cant sign the Bill of Sale, because there are impound fees he would have to pay if he did! I have no idea what was going through your head when you decided to hand someone a car and the title with no BOS, or why your friend didnt make you sign a BOS, but that shits retarded.

Good luck getting this figured out, I have a feeling unless you can get the title back your friend is sol.

Same thing happened to me... Traded my car for another car, met up the dude at his work, switched cars, I went straight to DMV, he said he'd go on his lunch break.

Two weeks later I get a certified letter from a towing company saying they impounded the car, but were coming after me for it. They will suspend your license if the bill is not paid. Turns out the retard got caught street racing, with a suspended license, intoxicated, and with a ficticious tag on the car. He was arrested. Car sat in impound for a week, and cost $500 to get it out.

I will never sell/trade with out a BOS or meeting the person AT the DMV to personally see them transfer the car to them.

 

If I were paid cash for a car, and the buyer got it impounded
before he got it into his name, and the buyer denies that he has a bill of sale, I would tell the towing company they
could sell the car to recover their expenses..........

and if the towing company would get a replacement title, I would be happy to sign it over to them.-Bob
