Damn it to hell (getting technical here)
Ok before i moved to tampa i didnt get a chance to try out the CC305 and 1.6 rr.
The springs they recommended were 987-16. Those are rated at 130 foot pounds. Is any body running this stiff of spring on a cc305? My friend Dan who is helping with the install said that that was too much stress for my hydrualic roller cam (cc305). when i bought the valve springs I asked the vendor if that was too big of a spring or to stiff... They said it was fine. So did 2 guys on camaroz28.com. But Im going to have to trust my friend since hes been building drag cars for 20 years. Im going to use 986s instead of the 987s. They are rated at 120 foot pounds.
But what next pisses me off...
The valve stem seals need replaced. They are too loose on the stems. So i call up Summit. They tell me they have them. I drive 1 1/2 hours and see that they arent the right type. They are the right size but not the right type.....
Now I got to wait till monday now till the dealship opens up. Ive just lost 4-5 days work on the car now. 3 days of work if the dealership has them in stock..
Im on vacation right now.... Ill have 2-3 days after i put my car back together to test/break in my car. Then i have to drive 1000 miles back to Tampa. I really really really dont want something to go wrong on the way there...
Im just worried that something wont work right.. Theres always something with working on cars... So now i hope that the driveshaft is in good the T-56 isnt kicking out of third (tested it in the garage and felt perfect) the Spec Stage III works like it should (dont to much material on the friction pads which worries/confuses me) the cam and rr work ok.... but most importantly I hope the car starts.
Man I know something is just going to fuck up and piss me off...
Say a small prayer for my car... SOmething to the effect GOD PLEASE LET IT CRANK OVER!

Thanks Blue TA... Man i think im going to need the luck. I called up Comp and talked to Jordan and mike (10 second daily driven z28 and a 10 second turbo z2
and they all agreed that I do want 987s. Im going to have to go against my friends opinion. Which bugs me cuz he knows way more than i do...
Valve seals get here tomorrow.
Its sucks not being able to do a damn thing till those seals get here..
Man I wanted to lay the smack down on the rice in this town. ANd the fake Saleen mustang (Cobra).. and the Red Ram air.
If i have to get on the plane to come back to Tampa Im going to be pissed.
Blue TA... Have you checked out the MAF ends for your car? Not to expensive and the LS1s have been getting good results with mods to the MAF. And we got to get you some 3.73s in that car. Itd feel like supercharging your car.

Just incase anyones interested............
Ive been asking everyone about the 987-16 valve springs as opposed to the 986-16 valve springs. Everyone has been saying 987-16s. Yet I go over to the box that contained the cc305 cam and pull out a yellow sheet showing its specs. And at the bottom it says that Comp Cams recommends a 986. Then i call up comp cams and the tech support says that i need a 987! I am sooo confused. Dan who is helping with the install tried to explain it to me.. And showed me with the spring compressor but im still confused. Im going to give this a shot but im still confused as hell...
1.800ths is the install height we want. This is what 987s would work with. 130 foot pounds would be achieved at 1.800ths. But with the height we have were showing 155 foot pounds. What i think happened is that the seats that i got were to tall and wont clear under the valve covers with 987s? So in order to use the same seats instead of thin metal shims im going to have to get Valve keepers at 10 degree and +.050 ths. They are part number 614-16 at Jegs (going to Jegs since summit are morons). Another 3 hour road trip. Or i could have got seats with offsets so the valve would sink further in...
So I wonder if Jordan and mike think i took off the heads to grind them down some so teh 987s would fit. ??
Im letting my friend Dan tell me whats going on with the valves cuz he runs a shop builds engines for a living and for pleasure. Wedensday night she should (pray to GOD) be running.

If things dont work out maybe you can have the car shipped here if you want it here that bad. 1000 miles may not be to expensive if you use one of those car transporter specialists.
Dont rush in your desperation to get it here cause you may end up messing things up in the process which equals more $$$$$. Good luck.
