There is another post on TR about this topic but I thought Id mention it here in this forum too.

A few times a year Sebring International Raceway is opened up for anyone to drive their car on. Its a test and tune day. A chance for people to see what their car can do on a real race track. There are a variety of cars on the track at once slower cars need to make way for faster ones. The event is a bit costly....appx $250 per car. But it lasts all day!!!! It would be worth it...imagine chasing down a NSX in your Civic or leading a Porsche 911 in your Mustang!!! Ahhhh Yeahhhh!!!

and check out: www.floridansx.com

If there is enough people from TR that would want to get involved there is a chance that there could be a group rate. Anyone want to take the ball and run with this? There are two dates coming up. one in April the other in May.

With MCATs Aprils definitely out of the question.

Ill try my hardest to prep the car for the May event though. I hope to God it doesnt fall anywhere near exam week.

I would like to do it but work gets in the way. And money (or the lack of). Maybe If we wait till the May one we could get more people in on it.

Actually I was the first one to bring this up about a year ago not too many people showed interest so I gave up. And you forgot this pic when you posted that.
Sebring May 6th (http://www.chinmotorsports.com/gallery/Sebring%20International%20Raceway%2C%20May%206%2C% 202001/display.asp?imgName=Dscn1786.jpg) And BTW I did pass the NSX by the end of the turn. I will be at the next event in April riding along not driving due to money issues (Saving for tow-vehicle).

Quick question... What coverage if any should/could you expect from your insurance company at one of these events in the event of an oops. My guess would be none but I was talking to a guy from jax who does this fairly regularly last weekend at GIR (autox) and he said that you are covered as this is (im stretching to remember exactly how he phrased it) instructor performance driving training. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

This is something that is left up to each individual insurance company to decide some to cover it some dont. I would suggest contacting your insurance company and inquiring about it if you think its a possibility. Most do cover it but there are some instances where they wont.
