hehehe sounds like your dad is trying to discourage you from racing mine does it too however keep this in mind if its a driver improvement or a non-sanctioned racing event insurance will cover it however it will be damn near impossible for you to screw up the car if you go off track the worst that would happen on an off track excursion there would be an alignment going out. Hell if yall are gonna meet at the flying J might as well show up 15 minutes earlier and take a drive down pasco road considering Pasco road IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE FLYING J I MEAN RIGHT NEXT TO IT fun fun road.

Driver improvement? Couldnt agree more.
There have been quite a few times where the skills Ive picked up autocrossing have come in handy. Autocrossing isnt just fun itll teach you car control and get you used to situations where they might come into play.

thats the main reason i would like to go to improve my driving. im gonna have to read my policy tonight but i didnt think it would be easy to mess up my car there so the thought of not going never crossed my mind was just curious.

Hey guys im going saturday getting new tires on tommorow.I will be there at the flying j. Not fqamiliar where that is though if any one can give me directions from palm harbor i would appriciate it.
Take 275 to I75 North. Turn off Exit 59 and you will see the Flying J to your right. I think this is also one of the Brooksville exits. You cant miss it this place is a huge truck stop and there are billboards before the exit as well.

What Shawn is trying to say is Saturday youll have to pay the ~$30 entry fee and if you want to drive again on Sunday youll have to pay another~$30 entry fee.
138MustangGT
03-07-2002, 12:02 PM
no actually you pay $50 if you wanna do both days not $60
and it is a pain in the butt to drive back and forth as well...
splitting a room is a decent idea... so is driving one day...
benefits to driving saturday only:
youll get more runs but it will be MUCH less competitive and there will be no rewards hte results of your practice will not be posted online for future reference
benefits of driving sunday:
fewer runs competitive field awards for those who win results available online
OH and if you guys plan on making a habit of doing this autoX thingy go ahead and get the membership... SOMETIME this season it will actually benefit you in the reduction of entry fees and the eligibility for season trophies. IF YOU BECOME A MEMBER DO NOT RUN NOVICE!!! this was my mistake... I ended up being one event short for a season trophy because my first event I registered novice! It is far more fun to go ahead and lose your first autox in this manner but remember your competitors because youll begin to catch up to them! That feels good!
sorry for the long winded post
Im probably going to do a few Novice events before I go and get my membership. I really want to get a feel for the car before I actually compete for points and whatnot. Plus I can only get Saturdays off which are generally practice days. Once I graduate and get a real job I will be able to get out on Sundays every once in a while. :D
