Too many people but thats not why I
m pissed. First time I get to run my SE-R and I launch at 3 hook
and bog and run a 15.2 but with mid 90s trap speed. Next race
I loose to a dork in a SLK cause of the crap launch and miss 2nd
cause of my stupid short-shifter. Third race I loose to a Legend
or something cause of the same exact scenario. Last race the kid
sucked at driving or something but I ran a 16.0 cause of my
guess.....LAUNCH. Though today (day after) I finally find out
how to launch right and launch at 4 and kill my friends 72
Olds Cutlass 355. Im mad cause of 1320 but happy cause I beat
my friends Olds. Im done bitching.

From what people are telling me...NO ORGANIZATION people just stop and park wherever they wanted. Couldnt move or drive around to even get out.

No the part I think is funny is the ppl that park on the side by the lanes. Not a problem until they want to LEAVE. See they want to park there but have no interest in running so when they try and EXIT they mess up everyone trying to get to the TRACK! (1 lane ppl gping to the front+ppl trying to leave=TRAFFIC JAM!) Anyway thats my $.02. And FYI to the ppl that do this: please make it EASIER for those who actually come to RACE and park your car in the BACK where it belongs! Thank you :)

I have been noticing that at the last few events. I am going to talk to them about it this week. The first thing I noticed when I got there was the cluster-fu.. of cars everywhere.

I had a good time. But i do agree with you guys they really need a lot more organization.

I also agree. You really dont know which way traffic is flowing when you get on the little roads to look for a parking space. And everyone is trying to go in and out all at the same time.

Thing is Id understand the situation at the back with the gate being there and all. But there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for the problems up front. Why cant ppl just go down the track to get out? Or not park up there???

I agree with all of you on this.

I am just glad to see this is the only major complaint right now. No one realizes how far this event has come in just a short amount of time.

Let me start by saying that this post is not directed towards any person or group. I race at Bradenton on a weekly basis during the points season and after the last two 1320 events there were several broken bottles in the small pit area I was in. I did not go and look around but Im sure there were more and like I said this is not directed towards anyone in particular but please use the trash cans. I know Todd and Alan would appreciate this and so would the weekly racers.

Thanks

Good point thanks.

Hopefully once the traffic flow / parking gets taken care of we can work on things like this too.

Maybe have the people that give tickets tell the people if you arent going to race park near the end and not up front. With that many people racing I dont think it can get much faster than what they were doing.

Eliminate mini-vans 4x4s SUVs etc that are running 18-20second times. I know 1320 is supposed to be for anyone but get realy those cars were in no way meant to run on a track.

Eliminationg any cars slower than 16.9 or only giving them 1 run would make the line cut in 1/2 at least. :haha:

This time seemed to be better than last month. They were putting cars down the track pretty quickly I thought. The parking was kinda bad. You couldnt get in/out there were just people everywhere. The only other thing was that people were going to the other side (where the track cars normally are) and were getting through faster. It would also be nice to see times for these track cars that are using 1320 as a test and tune.

Great turnout.
- why cant you stage the cars on the other side of the track. Block off the area behind the burnout area (behind the fence) and route traffic for racers ONLY through there and stage them on the other side rather than the usual side. That way you eliminate any cars that are not racing being around the staging lanes. There were cars staged up from the second they pulled in the gate after paying.
- Let me know if the above is not clear enough I may be able to clarify better. I think it is a good idea. The area behind the burnout area(behind the fence) is wide enough to run traffic through the other side. You can put a person out there to stop those not racing and make them turnaround and go park. Or vice versa route all the traffic up lane 1 when people pay and make them park on the other side.

Are we aloud to runa different christmas tree? I hate that
prestage stage go thing. And WE NEED TIMESLIPS!!!

Scott

Timeslips will not happen at least for the immediate future. To many reasons to list why they wont give them. But the instant green tree is to keep the people moving quickly instead of waiting on the tree plus it makes it look like a traffic light.

To many people that dont know what they are doing wasting lane space do these people in bone stock trucks and vans really care about their time or are they just there because their friend told them about it and they wanna do it because they have nothing else to do with their moms car on a friday night

I have to totally agree with everyone elses comments. Its awesome that we get to do this once a month but could they please enforce a FEW rules. As in no minivans and pick-ups that run 20s. I know I dont have the fastest car on the track but at least I go there to race...not just sit on a tailgate and drink beer. And as for the track cars using it as a T&T...they should have to wait in line like the rest of us.

I thought when this whole thing was started everyone wanted limited rules/personel..and now everyone is asking for timeslips etc. Make up your minds people...

You know its kinda funny... Now you guys see why those of us who have been racing for a long time get/have gotten so frustrated with all of the (mostly)import cars that come out to invade Sunshine and or Bradenton...
Your 20 second minivan is the same to you as your 14-16 second car is to those of us who race regularly.
Trust me....

On Wednesdays (at sunshine) and Thursday and Saturday (at Bradenton) when people are out trying to tune for an upcoming race we have to deal with 100+ non-race cars slowing the whole process down and ruining the track (radial tires cause the first 60 to go away very quickly) which limits the amount of testing and tuning that is actually done because someone wants their friend to see them going down the track with their new triple decker mack daddy pimped out non-functional wing.

Having the track cars as you call them wait in line like the rest of you would slow things down and since there are so few of them what does it matter....

My point is this if we have to put up with it on our test nights then so do you on your 1320 night.. Deal with it.

Well said. This is the exact point I have been trying to make for a while now.
