I had some problems with my 6 speed kicking out of 3rd gear at low rpms. With how it was doing it it came down to 2 things... 3-4 slider assembly 3-4 shift fork. Slider assembly was 250 bucks and shift for was 15 bucks. I had bought the steel forks anyways even if it were the slider assembly because the current ones are aluminum. Well my friend Dan the only person who Ive trusted enough so far to work on my car tore out the tranny and told me the tranny was in awesome shape just the 3-4 shift fork was bent. What the hell was Borg and Warner thinking when they designed an awesome tranny with flimsy aluminum forks when for 50 more bucks could have put in tough steel ones making the tranny almost truly bullet proof.
Im glad the whole job is only costing 350 bucks. So that other 250 bucks can go towards more mods :)
Shell be here soon... Cant wait.

Eh everyone fucks up at one point or another. Look at Dana ... best friggin axles in the world but what the hell were they thinking with the rear ends on the square headlight jeeps?? They were 33s with the axle housings directly matched up to the pumpkin not actually inside the pumpkin like every other axle is. Oh well at least the parts that matter the most are solid :)

And maybe GM gave them a weight limit for the trannies. Thats always possible. The engineers know the cars are pigs and they are always looking for weight savings so .... just a thought.

I know we had the same problem withour DSM trannies and I remember breaking some forks on my T5 stang. My recomendation..get a shifter with adjustable stops..the whole reason they have adjustable stops is to prevenet overtravel on your hard shifts when set up properly you should never break or bend forks. So if you already have one...get it adjusted correctly :)
